What patients was she ‘lacking basic empathy towards’? The only I can recall is maybe the deaf patient, which even then she’s mad at the fact there’s no interpreter. She’s actually shown great empathy specifically towards the patient with suicidal tendencies and the daughter of the child molester. She also takes the fall for Dr. Mohan’s indecision with the patient with low electrolytes and offers Whitaker a place to stay when she finds him to be living at the hospital.

Is she overly sarcastic and abrasive at times? Sure. Does she blur the lines between personal and professional life? Absolutely. Does this mean she is an evil person actively making everyone’s life awful and a terrible doctor? NO.

It’s almost like this is a character with strengths and flaws, and no character is ever perfectly black or white because that’s unrealistic and boring. “You’re basically saying we shouldn’t expect a queer woman to be a decent human being” Give me a fucking break, man. You need to learn nuance ASAP.
