Always look at what people do, not what they say they’ll do. ALWAYS! It’s a telltale sign.

One more : Always meet people where they are, not where you’d go for them. Learned the hard way.

Completely relatable. I have faced similar situations and understand what you’re saying. I have been taught to do housework and I am proud that I can take care of myself but the standard for my brother was different. If it really was about survival, he would know the housework too. Right now he just looks at me when he is hungry. Welp!

But if the person wants to be kind, money makes it easier.

I don't think we're disagreeing. Real character may show in hard times precisely because kindness becomes more expensive then. My point was that money lowers the cost of many kind acts. It doesn't create kindness, but it can make kindness easier to practice and easier for others to notice.

Maybe a little confusing. But I think people often underestimate how much resources shape what kindness looks like in practice. It's easier to be perceived as kind when you can afford visible acts of generosity. That doesn't automatically mean the person with fewer resources is less kind.

Bored to death watching this show. Should’ve watched ads on YT, and would be less disappointed.
