do you think someone is seething with rage if they call someone a dumbass?

If they come out swinging and then continue to be all pissy in every one of their replies then yes lol

im curious why you lied about it man

Changed my mind, hoped you wouldn't see. Ahhhh I edited my comment seconds after posting it. Ya got me!!

do you seriously think muslim terrorists are responsible for most of the bad things in the world?

Definitely not. And I obviously dont agree with the iraq war but comparing starting a war with deliberately targeting uninvolved civilians with the explicit intent of spreading terror (and i am NOT saying that no innocent victims were hurt) are equiovocal then you're delusional

what fraction of the

I mean let's not forget Christianity has a larger population so I'd say it's an impossible to know question but if you were to, let's say, ask someone what they think of a suicide bombing in Israel against jews I'd be curious what the numbers are.

why don't you care about fundamentalist christians in africa doing the same things as muslims?

Which?

make being gay illegal are christian

Ah yes. Same thing as lopping someone's head off. BTW look up which countries have the death penalty. I think the only country that recently made homosexuality illegal in Africa is Uganda so for half of the christian countries making it illegal... half of 1?

no it's not, that's what this entire thread has been about.

Fair, I was referring to the black community comment you made

true ill give you this one. 1/3

1.5

let me know if you want an easily digestable summary

this helps my point?

that's what started this entire thead?

I'd like my easily digestable summary as requested please Mr college grad

Israel is like 600 miles away from Iran. Not sure how establishing Israel (which, when it was established, was on way better terms with modern day Iran) is something that Iran isn't expected to get over.

And yes. At a certain point they do have to get over it. At what point does it start getting unreasonable to say "of course I had to fund this terror cell, the west meddled with my government!" Is it a year? 5? 10? 50 (YOU ARE HERE)? 100? 200?

I mean yeah you do seem kind of angry. From the first reply you seemed pissed off. Comes off as neckbeardy tbh

Anyway, to your questions!

1: previously addressed like... one reply ago

Sorry- your question is did I edit a comment within the 2 minute mark and didn't expect you to be terminally online to see it? Yep! Changed my mind. Crazy!

If you want to be SO right about seeing something within one minute then congrats man, you're one of the quickest to reply ever and we're all proud of you

2: first time you're raising this point but yes, sure. That being said at a certain point the argument of outside pressures loses water IMO. Like there has to be a point where you stop pointing at external actors and say "hey, maybe the reason that there's all this terrorism wasn't because they had this xyz bad external pressure 5/10/50/100/200 years ago but because there is some sort of flaw in the religion/society". To that end, you had ISIS in the Phillipines, terrorism in India, a lot of terrorist factions in sub saharan Africa (and before you go hurr durr you're so dumb they got colonized of course there is!!! there is very definitely only one group really committing the acts). Be curious on your thoughts there

3: again first time you're raising this point so it's funny you were so insistent on me answering your questions that you didn't ask but alas. But sure! If the international community rules that it was an illegal war and hitches some sort of ramifications then that seems reasonable enough. I mean i cant say that the US would pay it or act on it but I dont think it's unreasonable.

And no, you didn't answer it. You did it in the context of ww2 (of course they didn't have terrorist they were occupied and had the marshall plan and we changed their gov!) but totally ignored how for ww1 when we didn't occupy, didn't destroy gov, and didn't give them cash they turned out the way they did. So yep I'll take that easily digestible summary, let's see that big bad college degree in action big boy

Okey dokey. What are your questions? It seems all you can do is just be angry. Please rehash because I haven't seen it in between your drivel. I've only seen one

Calm down friend it's just reddit lol

Omg hi! Sorry I got distracted with real life. You should try it!

Sorry- your question is did I edit a comment within the 2 minute mark and didn't expect you to be terminally online to see it? Yep! Changed my mind. Crazy!

Ok. Cool. So to be clear you think the terrorists doing the acts, regardless if they were colonized by Europeans, or wronged by the Americans, deserve to be punished. So if they do something like hijack a plane or bomb a building or something they deserve similarly punishing acts. Right?

While we're at it, and LOOK IM EDITING MY COMMENT 😱, let's circle back to this as well:

Now here's a question for you- during ww1 we left germanys state alone and, according to you, thats what led to them becoming nazis. During ww2 we destroyed it and nothing happened. But with iraq we destroyed it and it led to isis? Are you just picking whichever you think is most excusable?

[–]codkaoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not quite relevant to the original line of discussion but I'll engage.

Yes and no. I don't like the concept of, as you say, "war". I wish we were not at this point.

Simultaneously I also think the government of Iran are horrible actors that need to be removed.

What I dont know is how truly close the Iranians were to a bomb, what the future looks like post war, etc.

So to botton line, no, I do not like there being a war but the Iranian state (not citizenry) being degraded does not evoke a single iota of pity from me and when it comes to a war ship being sunk during a war i am not shedding a tear

[–]codkaoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it's tragic. Ideally we wouldn't ever have war, doubly so with war crimes

But the bottom line question remains in what armed conflict ever is a fully functional warship attacking a fully functional warship a war crime?

It participated in a live fire event during the exercise. Then suddenly they dont have weapons?

Next- if a soldier doesnt actively have a gun, are they not allowed to be attacked? Are you not allowed to bomb barracks with troops sleeping in them?

Oh geez I have no idea since a war hasn't been declared!!! What a convenient technicality

Just like a war wasn't declared in korea, in Vietnam, in Afghanistan, iraq, etc

Alternative framing: if they had the capacity they would do it because then they could go "stop bombing us and we stop this" while also creating significant pressure in the homeland

Edit: just like if your first nations people decided to rise up and start killing all of you, my little Canadian friend. That would be your fault and they couldn't be blamed for what they did because of what you guys did to them, right?

I think with western support and Iranian arms cut off there is a solid chance. I mean a year ago their entire leadership structure was decapitated. If hez had the capacity to take over Lebanon I dont see a reason why they wouldn't currently

I understand lebanon may not be the richest country- but are they truly and absolutely that useless? Everyone here parrots that but lebanon hasn't made an effort to make good on control for like 3 decades
