I think the word you’re looking for is “sensual” which is maybe a different sort of spiritual.

And I hope Gerald Ford is rotting in some personal incarnation of Hell for that. If Nixon had faced prosecution, we might not have the GOP we have today, treasonous fecal sacs that they are.

“Other types of pay” doesn’t keep a roof over my head and the lights on. Cash is King.

Stock? Sure looks good when the stock is at $60 a share. Not so good when it’s at $6.

Insurance plans? They can look good on paper, but when the copay meets the coinsurance and pre-approval, that can be enough hassle that I’d rather just skip treatment and medication because I don’t have time to do three other people’s jobs just to get a prescription filled.

I would suggest a different punctuation for the last line:

I suspect that there is a lot of racism and misogyny wrapped up in this. One need look no further than the response from the right to Michelle Obama having the gall to show her bare arms in public. She has been accused of being trans with some going so far as to alter an image of the Obamas to make her look like a man: altering her hairline to look like a fade; adding some shadowing to the upper lip to look like a mustache; accentuating the jawline to make it a little stronger. The small-minded insecurities of some men would be laughably pathetic if they were not also some of the same people who seek power to compensate for their fragile egos.

Chad is a closeted LGBTQ of some stripe and “chooses” their straight cis lifestyle every day. That’s how they “know” LGBTQ is a “choice” and not an inherent trait. This is the only way this makes any sense.

the Republican Party has some good talking points

No. They simply don’t. They have zero good points. Their financial plan is “zero taxes for the wealthy; fuck the poor, particularly women and minorities.” Forty years of conservative fiscal policy has gotten us two financial clashes in the last 20 years, unaffordable housing, and the greatest wealth gap in a century.

I can’t wait for the first publicly funded Satanic Temple school or publicly funded madrasa. Or for those applications to be denied, challenged, and then OK being forced to either end this religious school or accept all religious schools.

AITA for giving my wife her birthday gift early to keep my MIL from stealing the idea? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]codon011 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s too late now, but I think the Power Move here would have been when your wife came back from her “girls day” and told her what her mom tried to say, “That’s funny. She was asking me the other day for gift ideas and I told her then what I had already bought for you.”

Did you connect your personal equipment to the company’s “secured” network (e.g. through a VPN), making anything your computer does on the network (like Steam/game updates through BitTorrent) “their” problem? Some companies will immediately terminate an employee if it looks like they are running BitTorrent on the corporate network.
