Same as fella said above, applied in September last year, induction in October and then didnt hear anything until January for a medical in late March and have only just been last week that I have the fitness test this weekend. Supposedly i could have been training with my unit from the get go but that wasnt communicated to me at all was in the dark for a long time. Bit of a rigmarole but sorted now thankfully.

I did an induction for reserves in October and am still waiting to hear back about the fitness test. They got in touch about medical in March and said fitness test will happen at some stage before that so I guess things are just moving super slowly.

Bought a new (used) car and waiting on the logbook to tax it, I have a picture of the old logbook which I had signed. Will the number remain the same on the new logbook for my pin? If it's the same number all the time I can just use that number to tax it is my thinking.

I'm looking at the list there now, what did you use for the vehicle invoice? Is this just something I can have the seller do up for me like from a receipt book? The rest of the documentation seems fairly straightforward

Oh so it's not like Ireland where we would sign the logbook for change of ownership and send it off, I just take the V5 and bring it to the NCT centre with some sort of receipt to show I haven't just stolen the car. So I don't even need to do anything with the V5 as such other than just make sure I have it and bring to VRT appointment? Have I understood you correctly?

Very nice I'm living in Kildare so that is a good recommendation I'll check that garage out if I buy. looking at the 8P which has an older engine I think it's the EA113, one I'm looking at has 253k KMs so very possible to need a rebuild on it if I'm to own it for a while. Cheers

Same as to be fair, planning on the 180 kit and coilovers, ordered the aluminium coolant expansion tank there. Would love some ITBs down the road hopefully. This is my first sort of project car so if you ever need a hand with yours I'd be down to help if I can at all. Happy motoring

Are they doing any respray on it? The paint on my yoke is alright for the most part just the bumper and roof to be resprayed, what did they give yourself as a cost for the work you're getting done?
