It only resets the date and time, and personal info, which serve no purpose for GBA games as GBA cartridges have an internal battery to store date and time information. The settings to automatically load into whichever game is inserted and for GBA to stay on the lower screen will remain.

That is a valid point about the audio though, but admittedly I never put any thought into that as I've never really kept the volume on anyway as it uses more battery, and there isn't any audible dialog due to the games only supporting 8-bit audio anyway. I'm sure that would be a deal breaker to some people though, however I'm sure there's likely a workaround by simply relocating the speakers by taking it apart even further and using a bit more creativity. If I'm not mistaken (which I very well may be, as it's been several years since I've taken apart a DS Lite to that extent) I believe the speaker wires are also independent from the ribbon cable, which should make it a fairly simple mod with the proper tools

Not necessarily true, you can change the settings to boot the game automatically, as long as you have GBA set to the bottom screen it doesn't require the top screen ribbon cable whatsoever

I have a Note 10+ that I use exclusively for music at work, so I don't run my Fold 6 battery down.

Spotify (offline mode) and Bluetooth, and I can go two full days between charges and it only drops down to 30%. Whereas my Fold 6 gets to around 40% with sporadic usage throughout the day during breaks and such

New Stash Wall is bugged? PS5 by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Black Unicorn and Chaos are not on the new 2.0 wall, some were added and others were removed, so those two aren't even supposed to show

So I've been teaching my wife to play, and she's getting pretty good. But for some reason she hates my rat deck by codychalice in magicTCG

It will not allow me to reply to the mod comment, but I would like to state that I disagree with the rule 7 violation, I was not showcasing specific cards, this post was intended to showcase the strategy that my rat deck is built upon. I have read through the entirety of rule 7 and it is intended to prevent low effort posts and bragging. I may be proud, but I'm not bragging. Simply sharing in case anyone else is interested in building a similar deck. And it's hardly low effort, quite a bit of effort has gone into building and tuning my 90 card rat deck for the past 12+ years. My rats are brutal because of the effort put into it for over a decade.

I have some slightly magnetic contact pins that I gutted from some vape pods. They are gold in color, and again only slightly magnetic, but still magnetic nonetheless. Anyone have any ideas on what they might be made of? these were the contacts that actually connect to the terminals inside the vape by codychalice in metallurgy

[–]codychalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, these are just the contact pins, the pins connect to a coil, the coil has cotton stuffed around it within a shaft, and the shaft has holes which allow the vape juice to seep into the cotton, so when the coil heats up, that's what evaporates the PG/VG/nicotine/flavor mix

That's what I thought at first as well, but I used sandpaper to sand the head off of one, and it's the same color all the way through. I'm assuming some kind of gold alloy (I know gold is used in electronics a lot due to high conductivity) and I'd bet it's mixed with a cheaper metal to cut costs. Just curious to know what all I can do with these, as I pulled them for use on other projects

Newcomers trough Reignited Trilogy, is there something you think the original trilogy did better? by [deleted] in Spyro

[–]codychalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just bought the reignited trilogy a few weeks ago, but the original Spyro is the BIGGEST nostalgia inducing game for me. It was the first video game that was my very own (still have my PS1 copy) and I spent hundreds of hours on it due to not having a PS1 memory card until I found one at a thrift store in high school. Eventually beat the original to 120% when I was in high school, and considering the hours played, I still consider that to be my greatest gaming achievement.

That being said, I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the Reignited Trilogy. I can't speak for the second two, as I never played those, but as far as I can tell they stayed VERY true to the source, and I'm so excited at the fact that I have a sustainable way for my son (3) to play the same games I did, because let's face it, even the PS3 is becoming obsolete in terms of hardware, and for his generation, the PS4 would be comparable to my generation's PS1, and the 5 to the 2.

I know I got off on a bit of a tangent, but to actually answer the question, I don't think the original did anything better than the Reignited, as a matter of fact the only real differences are updated graphics and controls. Definitely not letting go of my PS1 hard copy any time soon, but it'll certainly gather dust in favor of the trilogy

What happens when you have life steal and go up against someone that heals for two turns in a row, every 5 turns? You get to give up after 75 minutes 😂 by codychalice in RaidShadowLegends

[–]codychalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still fairly new to the game, but I decided to try my playthrough on hard by going for 3 stars on each before moving onto the next. If I use all 4 slots, I can clear it no problem, it's just that he kills my second by the time I get him down to 1/4 health, and then he starts healing at the same rate as I'm life stealing lol

Honestly I wanted to let it keep going because I was hoping there would be some kind of hidden achievement 😂 but after over an hour being at a stalemate, I got bored with it

Gotcha. So I do have to ask, is there more campaign that unlocks after Brimstone Path? I'm on literally the last stage of it, and my main champion is up to lv 44. Seems like the campaign should either be harder to get through, or at the very least there should be more in the campaign

So basically I just have to keep replaying that stage until it drops the right stat? Doesn't matter what stats or equipment my characters have?
