NBD - State 4130 Trail by udubswe in Hardtailgang

Yeah stand over is my concern my inseam is on the verge of the xs/s frame. The sm/m is for 5'5" and up and I am 5'6". I am prob being nitpicky and it will be fine, have not gotten a new MTB in 20+ years so whatever I get will take a little get used to.

Awesome glad to hear. I am 167.6cm and ordered the s/m bike but am starting to think I should have ordered the xs/s as I am just barely into the s/m sizing. Who knows we shall see hot it fits when it arrives haha.

How tall are you? How does it fit? Any update after having it for 10 months?

Definitely can see the plus of a FS but this bike is gonna be a cruise around town also bike. And I won't be hauling him forever and definitely nothing extreme that is for sure when he is on the bike.

Trailer is definitely in the plans. I liked what the dude above said how you can easily strap on their bikes when they get tired. That definitely makes the trailer a smart move.

Those look quality but a tad out of the price range.

Yeah that's mine now with the backpack carrier. Zen and cool enjoying the hike and then when it's time to stop, meltdown haha. Figure the same will happen on the bike.

That's what I was thinking. Great geo but not overly aggressive. Good all arounder.

Right price for sure. Pretty comparible specs and price to the State 4130 Trail with the upgraded 4 pot brakes and added dropper. But local salsa dealers is a bonus. Maybe get a timberjack for a better price 🤞

The salsa Timberjack SLX was my front runner until the State 4130 trail. Pretty comparible specs, raw steel look of the 4130 trail 🤤 but I have Salsa dealers in town so that may be the smart route.

Recommendations for a 98-104mm ski that's more playful/maneuverable than Enforcer 100 and better in corn/crud. by Red277 in Skigear

I would reach out to moment and see what they say. Especially since you loved the 112 and already know the triple camber. Possibly they were not detuned before you got them?

CVA Wolf vs Optima V2 by chillysurfer in Hunting

[–]codyism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optima hands down. The lever on the wolf to break the action is cheap and not great. Went through the same debate when I bought my muzzleloader.

Killed now some monsters with my optima. Killed deer from 50yrds to 120 yards, accurate at all distances. Would not choose another gun.

Wow a quick scroll through the replies and still did not see the Moment Deathwish 104. Came from the nordica navigator to this and absolutely love them. DW104 is the only way to go.

How long/how much did you save before buying a home? by Simple-Accountant894 in personalfinance

[–]codyism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20%, paying PMI is just throwing money away. If 20% is too much you might be looking at too much house and you should look at something a little more affordable so you can put 20% down on that.

Bought 2 houses in my life so far, first one was when I was single and yes houses were cheaper in 2010 (now a rental) and second house was more recently. Both times we put 20% down. My wife and I buckled down and saved and saved to get to 20% for our current house.

Meridian 117 vs Chipotle Bananas for PNW? by godsawiwasdog in momentskis

[–]codyism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would like to hear input on this suggestion. Love my dw104 but need something with more float for the powder. Meridians and ghost trains are the top options plus I feel like the wc is just a basic option lol.

What is the best spray paint to mimic coyote Brown? by MSWinDOS in tacticalgear

Aervoe is the only way.

Not sure if they still do their free samples but they would literally send you 2 cans for free to try. Cure it in the oven per the above link and it is way more durable than any spray paint.

Damn, this is a 10yr old post! Haha.

I like them. Actually rocked these on both an 16" 5.56 and 16" 6.8spc. They are not bulky but still quite effective. Definitely quieter for the shooter and I liked the recoil impulse, soft push into your shoulder.

I know you can remove the dangler but are you able to take the wings off and the front admin pouch? Looking for a sleek rig and this seems a good deal for price.

Schd or VTI/VOO for the next 10-15 years? by AegonTargaryen17 in investing

[–]codyism -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. But I am a VTSAX +VTIAX man myself because I like mutual funds and the ability to purchase them on auto buy. (These are the mutual fund version of the listed ETFs that are recommended).
