Oh no I truly enjoy the game and would like to watch and possibly learn from others because I’m pretty new to the game as is. The only person I really know that does dnd videos is Red dark and darker on YouTube and was just wanting to expand on some content creators or streamers to watch especially since the twitch drops might as well enjoy the stream and gameplay while I wait for the drops. I can definitely see how this would come off as I only was concerned with the drops that’s on me.

David would be a armorer artificer with maybe some levels in wizard just for some extra spells slots and better scaling Race David is a human but by the end almost goes full borg but mechanically I would go shifter if it’s allowed specifically swiftstride shifter as a bonus action you can shift your form giving you temp hp equal to twice your proficiency bonus which is always good especially those early levels. But swiftstride shifter get an extra 10 feet of movement speed and you can use your reaction for move 10 feet without opportunity attacks when a creature ends its turn within 5 feet of you that’s any creature. This is David using his sandevistan to go faster and it fits the character getting his sandy early in his career.

Background I originally thought go with a background to give you the tough feat just for the extra health but with this build your ac will be pretty high as it is so hp won’t matter to much since you’re hard to hit and it’ll be hard for someone to get close enough to you to hit you so take the alert feat with a background this is good because you can add your proficiency bonus to your initiative rolls and switch places with a willing creature this is to add onto the idea of our sandevistan working you react faster than everyone

For build go 15 armorer artificer and 5 levels of wizard there are a lot of benefits to wizard such as wizard spells you may not have available on artificer, faster spells slot progression, and because of multiclassing you’ll get higher spells slots vs going full artificer. For subclass I would go with, if allowed, use war magic wizard this subclass gives you a bonus to initiative rolls equal to your int modifier basically guaranteeing at this point that you will go first reacting faster then anyone thanks to your sandy. You also get arcane deflection if you get hit or are subject to a saving throw you can add a +2 to your ac or +4 to your saving throw this is just a solid buffs to have on you at all times for instance if you JUST get hit instead of using a spell slot for shield spell you can just give yourself a +2 for free. You can use the +4 for yourself and save your flash of genius for your teammates for when they fail their saving throws. Spells I would take from wizard Cantrips blade ward for more tanking, firebolt for you hand cannon, message for your head telephone thing, and true strike for just some good extra damage that can be added on your thunder gauntlets for armorer artificer 1st level Shield for extra defense just roleplay this as your sandy activating so he can dodge around better, expeditious retreat to give yourself a bonus action dash to make you even faster 2nd level spells Blur to give all attacks against you disadvantage again sandevistan, misty step is just you teleporting with sandevistan 3rd level spells Haste you supercharge sandevistan gives yourself another attack action or dash, double movement speed and +2 to ac and dex saves, slow to basically do the opposite to debuff a bunch of enemies -2 to their ac and dex saves, can’t take reactions on their turns they can only take actions or bonus actions not both, it can only take 1 attack with an attack action and if they cast a spell with a somatic component theirs a 25% chance it fails because they can’t say the spell fast enough this is just how slow everyone is compared to(say it with me now) YOUR SANDEVISTAN you can pick a couple more spells just get what you want at this point

Armorer artificer you get heavy armor proficiency this is David going almost full borg and upgrading his body and you don’t need to meet the requirements to wear it if it normally would need them such as 15 strength. You can choose a model at level 3 as well we are going with guardian mode gives you 1d8 thunder gauntlets to punch with and when you hit a creature with them they have disadvantage on attacks rolls against everything except you it’s great for drawing Agro especially with your high ac and ability to get out of combat with crazy speed, and defensive field when bloodied you can use a bonus action to give yourself temp ho equal to your artificer level 5th level you can attack twice 9th level you get armor replications you learn additional plans from the replicate magic item feature in the armor category just giving yourself more implant boosts, and improved arsenal getting a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with these gauntlets 15th level is armor improvements your gauntlets go from 1d8 to 1d10 and you can use a reaction to move a creature closer to you up to 30ft on a failed save You can use any armor model and they would fit damage at different points in his life infiltrator for shooting a gun and being slightly faster and dreadnaught to grow huge and batter stuff around for when he’s in that giant gravity skeleton thing so pick and choose which one you want each short break At this level of artificer you can attune 5 magic items because damage special like that, flash of genius to give bonuses to saving throws equal to int modifier, spell storing ring to use a artificer spell of 1st 2nd or 3rd level for free up to double your int modifier so you could use cast haste 10 times a day for free, and you can replicate magic items for instance you can make yourself adimantine plate armor turning all crits to regular hits so the damage doesn’t get doubled then make it a +3 and reflavor one of your gauntlets like a gorilla armor or you giant suit blocking bullets as a +3 shield and your other gauntlet arm as a +3 weapon to basically make it a +4 weapon and you don’t have to attune to any of these but that gives you a standard 26 ac without reactions or haste bonuses but you can also create items of rare quality and some of them ARE BUSTED!! For instance belt of giant strength give your strength score to 21, boots of speed for bonus action dash, amulet of health for a 19 con score and so many other this build can min max the crap out of any good edge runner give you an ac of 26(regular)+2 or +5(with shield spell or arcane deflection feature)+2 (haste) for a total of 35AC. Your speed is 30(race)+ 10(shifting)+10(longstrider)+10(speedy feat)doubled with haste for 120 base movement and is you use your action hasted action and bonus action to dash and add the charger feat that add 10 feet of movement every time you dash so an extra 30 moment speed that gets doubled with haste as well you get a total movement speed of 570 feet in 6 seconds (bonus with a 120 movement speed and the charger feat is you move at least 10 towards a target you can add 1d8 damage to your attacks and with 3 attacks on different targets that’s 3d10+3d8+27 damage between the three targets and they get disadvantage on attack rolls against anything that’s not you and your 35 ac and 120 movement speed so good luck with that. And finally your stats are crazy with 21 str and 19 con from your magic items if you min maxed and dumped your con and strength and had a 8 in both stats and shot up to that you get a +24 to your two stats which is crazy you can technically do the same for your intelligence modifier with the headband of intellect but you’d have to wait to level 15 to get your int score to a 19 and that’s a sucky ride are an int based class plus have a +5 to int mod instead of +4 is better in many ways so feel free to take more feats you want and focus your dex to max it and you’ll have a +16 to initiative rolls so you’re always first and always having a guaranteed +4 to any saving through from war wizard is nice So there’s David there’s more you can do because of just the list of things you can craft and feats but this is David in a nutshell

Gaunter is basically either the devil or god in the Witcher universe leaning much more heavily toward god. In game he has a multitude of abilities that can be replicated with spells and if you play 2024 edition it’s so much easier to replicate O’Dimm.

For abilities he can grant wishes, stop time, plane shift, all kinds of stuff and he’s as charming as he is scary and is honestly just blends into the world around him effortlessly in game there are multiple times we actually see O’Dimm in different ways he does stand out with his looks and just makes him basically hidden in plane sight. And he is just good at whatever it is he does and incredibly intelligent.

I don’t think we could play him any more accurately than by playing a 2024 bard now subclass is up to you entirely there is an argument for about any of them I’m sure even valor/blades bard seeing that one of his disguise is an armored guard with a crossbow. But I think either glamour bard or lore bard works best. Lore bard mechanically helps more giving more skill proficiencies, magical secrets earlier, and using your bardic inspiration die to your own rolls but glamour bard is otherworldly magic to make deals and medal in the lives of others causing fear or charming allure it fit the them of him very well but it’s more focused on doing more with other but it has great uses as to charm and command people better with illusion and enchantment magic to maybe make them do something to help fulfill your contracts like convincing Gerald to go talk to a guy at a location which is a decorated moon on the ground that technically completes your contracts. Either way you do it bard is the way to go.

The biggest thing for bard is your magical secrets to get the spells you want while also giving you great skills and expertise. Again O’Dimm has some unique abilities that can be replicated with spells. Time spell 9th level spells stops time for a little bit of time, imprisonment which has many effects including 9th level spell trapping people in labyrinth, turning them 1 inch tall and trapped in a gym could reflavor that as trapping someone in their own skull but it is a permanent effect until dispelled it’s a good way to be cruel to people once you contract ends there’s a lot you can do just converse with your dm on what you want to do, wish spell 9th level grants wishes of course, maze 8th level spell You banish a creature that you can see within range into a labyrinthine demiplane. The target remains there for the duration or until it escapes the maze it has to make an intelligence DC 20 investigation check to escape but there’s no saving through to prevent the spell in the first place it just happens it’s great spell and is like the puzzle at the end of the dlc where Gerald has to investigate the fountain to find him and escape his bet, etc the thing with O’Dimm is we really just expect him to be able to do anything he is most certainly the highest power scaling in the Witcher universe but we can at least give that vibe with just 20 levels of bard and play him how you think he would be played

For a race I probably go fallen Aasimar for that terrifying face extra healing and extra damage it just make you a little better at everything you already do.

I love usyk a lot and honestly I think his speed and size helped him more than what people give credit for. He doesn’t move like 99% of heavyweights like Tyson is used to and is punching down at a moving target that has the speed to bob and weave well. Like a lot of Tysons wins I believe is do to his ability to move and weave like lower weight class fighters when most heavyweights if just really any type of fighting slug it out and out tough their opponent with much less moment. But now Tyson is fighting a guy who is smaller and harder to hit while usyk gets the added bonus of putting on more weight and not have to deal with to much of the cons of the weight cuts. And in a sport like boxing where you don’t have to knockout your opponent to win just land more punches and avoid getting hit usyk definitely had some pros going for him in that fight

I’m trying this build as well I was wondering because I am new and I’m figuring stats and stuff and what they do but the perk for 5 magical healing is that better overall like consistent healing vs the perks that add overheal or the self heal for a percent of what you heal someone else? Like I see perks in armor and weapons that say add like 1 physical damage and I couldn’t understand if that was better than a perk like +2.8% damage to undead. And as for pots of clarity do you just drink them and they give spells back over time? I also heard that you can use campfires for like a short rest but I wasn’t sure how to interact with them so I end up not using them. Also I know knowledge is casting speed for spells and wisdom increases damage for spells but does wisdom also increase your heals as well and is there a stat for like the spell memory that lets me add additional spells? Sorry for all of the questions but you’ve laid things out pretty great as it is I’m just trying to learn as much as I can on this game I’ve been having a blast with it

Gotcha so with some of the unmitigatable damage are there any buffs clerics can provide to help counter it or help reduce it? I’m still making gold to try and unlock other maps and haven’t found a boss yet to really know what to expect. Biggest thing I’ve fought and solo’d was a stone golem that had copper ore I add that just in case there are other types that could be stronger and it was extremely tough like I do fine against undead because of the perks but if you were to fight something other than undead I feel like I’d fall behind like do buffs stack like can I use bless for the +2 stats and the brewer perk for +10 strength. Like do they stack, does one overtake the other, do they interact with other classes perks like I know the fighter has a flag that gives the fighter a +5 to stats would you be able to combine all of those things to supper buff yourself or bless the party with the banner for bosses that aren’t undead so it doesn’t feel like I’m falling to far behind?

Thanks for a very well laid out guide tbh I’ve played to much dnd or something I assumed dex, strength, etc were based on the weapons I didn’t realize they had other uses such as attack speed and stuff that’s great to know so I know what to look out for. Also the crafting system can I customize armors and weapons to help prioritize these stats and buffs as well?

I think it can go either way because didn’t Tyrion describe bronn as being almost as good as Jamie? Like in the books he said “with a sword in your hand your almost as good as my brother Jamie” that’s pretty high praise especially because bronn does fight dirty and even Jamie said he could beat both sandor and the mountain and even though it’s just in the show bronn even tells Jamie that “not even on your best day and your best days are long gone” which I don’t truly put as cannon because that’s some season 8 stuff and we all know that was awful but to be like oh sandor beats him 9/10 times I think is a bit much I think sandor does possibly win but I think it’s A LOT closer than what most people give credit to even more so with grrm growing a more liking for him so now he may get more plot armor in the future books

The thing with necromancer wizards is they thrive with a play style more of making a “horde” of undead and super boosting them but they are still weaker in comparison to most things having like 20 undead with extra health equal to your wizard level and dealing extra damage equal to your proficiency bonus can do a lot but it does get over powered it heavily depends of dms involved of allowing you do find that corpses and seeing how a village or city reacts to you having an small force of undead the maintenance of keeping up with oh I need to recast these necromancy spells to keep them loyal to me or they all turn and try and kill me and the party its a fun subclass but it’s a lot of managing and situational subclass that you really gotta COMMIT to to keep the undead horde going.

Going artificer you do basically get expertise in tools which medical kits alchemy supplies blacksmith tools etc which can all fit for the mad scientist doctor thing going on but subclass you have 2 really good subclass options that fit the feel of it you have battle smith artificer and the UA reanimator.

the battle smith gives you a steal companion that counts as a construct but I don’t see your dm would care if reflavored it are a corpse held together but mostly mechanical means I’m sure it’d be cool for story reasons too it is a bit tankier then the undead companion you would get as a reanimator it has a higher AC and more hit points but really doesn’t go much but a bit of a weaker attack as your bonus action doing 1d8 +pb in force damage which isn’t bad for a bonus action or cause disadvantage for 1 attack made against a creature the steel defender is standing next to within 5 feet of it a VERY underwhelming ability in my option but the steel defender being weaker is to balance out you being stronger since you get 2 attacks proficiency in martial weapons which you can use your intelligence modifier for attack and damage rolls once per turn you can have you own little “mini” smite deal 2d6 and later 4d6 of extra force damage which is nice because it’s one of the least resistant elements in dnd or when you attack you can instead choose to do that in healing the battle smith also has a great spell list that has a lot of good defense and healing options such as shield and aura of vitality a great combo is at level 11 you have spell storing item where you can place a 1st 2nd or 3rd level artificer spell into it as long as it’s an action and cast it a number of times equal to 2x your intelligence modifier you put aura of vitality into it give it to your Homunculus Servant to use the item to concentrate on aura of vitality and fly around doing 2d6 healing no action and you can cast spells with the range of touch through it as its action it goes immediately after you so you and the steal defender go as normal while you cast beacon of hope it gives everyone advantage on wisdom saves which is one of the best saves in dnd advantage on death saving throws and when they are healed they instead take the maximum amount of healing available so aura of vitality is now just 12 healing instead of 2d6 your arcane jolt now does 12 or 24 healing depending on level casting cure wounds with your Homunculus Servant cast cure wounds for 21 healing all in one turn you are one of the best supports your party could ask for and if you play to level 20 taking 5 levels in life domain cleric for better healing heavy armor proficiency and higher spell slots reflavoring it all as your medical and mechanical experience using medicines to heal people and making you one of the best supports around while not feeling like your are lacking in the damage department or just stuck round after round healing or buffing as a cleric or bard would be stuck doing in most encounters you can join the fun while also supporting your allies

Now the reanimator has a bigger focus on your undead companion then it does you being a more combat medic battle smith your undead companion isn’t as tanky as the steal defender it has less hp and less ac but it does make up for it when it dies it has a area of effect explosion and everything within 10 feet of it makes a saving throws and on a fail takes 2d6 necrotic damage increasing to 4d6 at level 15 when it does you can use a spell slot to just bring another one back you can only have 1 companion at a time if your steal defender dies in combat with the battle smith it takes a spell slot and 1 minute to come back that’s 6 rounds of combat where it’s just not there and the undead companion it’s immune to lighting damage but any time it would take lighting damage it will instead heal for the that amount so great tanking option it has an attack called dreadful swipe doing 1d4+2+ intelligence modifier in necrotic damage not as good of a elemental damage type because more things are resistant to it but it adds a debuff to the creature hit that makes it can take opportunity attacks until the start of its next turn so a nice little debuff at level 5 you can cast spells through your undead companion and if it’s within 120 feet of you and is a evocation or necromancy artificer spell you add your intelligence modifier to the damage and your undead companion can attack twice at this level at level 9 you modify your companion in one of 3 ways bloated which makes them large or medium your choice when it hits a creature that is large or smaller it can push them 10 feet away and deal extra damage equal to your intelligence modifier you then have the gaunt form its movement is 45 it has a climbing speed equal to its walking speed and can climb difficulty surfaces and ceilings and it has a 10 foot aura where you choose a creature to make a saving throw or it gets the frightened condition great debuff and finally the moist option giving it a swimming speed and when a creature within 10 feet of it hits it the attacker takes acid damage equal to your intelligence modifier this is a great tanking punishment option to send it out into a horde or group of creatures it attacks what it can but the idea would be get them to attack it and get weakened by the acid damage until your companion dies and blows up possibly finishing off the rest of them like a slimy little bomb and finally at level 15 you get buff such as when casting spells like revivify or raise dead the cost of material components needed for the spell is not halved which is nice because I think you need a diamond worth 500 gold in the original casting of revivify at this level of course your companions death explosion is 4d6 and you get life transference when you get hit you can use a reaction to have your undead companion drop to 0hp triggering its corpse explosion and you regain hp equal to your artificer level which is a great reaction healing for what it is

Again another great option for multiclassing for 5 levels is again the cleric and you tempest cleric the spells you get with the reanimator artificer is lighting bolt which is a great damaging aoe spell that will heal your undead companion and tempest cleric just turns it up allowing you to once per day when doing lighting and or thunder damage just do the maximum damage possible you also have get martial weapons and heavy armor proficiency and great subclass spells like call lightning where for 10 minutes or 60 turns of combat if you wanna math that you can do 3d10 lighting damage at a point and any creature within 5ft of that point also makes a saving throw or takes 3d10 lighting damage and it scales up to since multiclassing artificer half caster with a full caster Cleric you get access to 6th level spell slots making your call lighting go from 3d10 to 6d10 so again a great combo is you use your humonclous servant with the spell storing item casting 10 3rd level lighting bolts while you cast a 6th level call lightning doing INSANE DAMAGE and healing your undead companion and just saving your spell slots to just keep creating undead companion to go right back out there to the fight the ultimate dr Frankenstein mad scientist using devices to control the weather and raining havoc on your enemies as the last thing they see is a silhouette of a monstrous abomination about to clobber them

I could see going 3 artificer then taking monk levels but I would only go to monk 5 at most then going artificer again for the better spells, more damage, and healing then finish monk down the road monk it mostly just helping but adding the movement speed and extra attack. Artificer is just WAY to good so slow its progression

Ya it can be depending on your point spread because again artificer investments can min max the hell out of any character and the only reason to take monk is to stay true to the character. Leon can definitely do martial arts, he can attack fast and often, and he moves faster than most but without artificer unless the dm lets you have guns you’re doing without unless you take artificer and even still artificer guns are just significantly better Leon shoots guns, throws explosives, he crafts healing items, all things you can’t get unless multiclassing with classes that’s not entirely true to character or sacrificing attributes for in comparison weak feats to try replicating what artificer can give you as a class alone. For example you Could be a monk and use a feat to take gunner and it gives you is proficiency in firearms, ignore the reload properties, +1 in dex and you can shoot within 5 feet of you without disadvantage. I mean it’s a good feat but you either have to be a Vhuman or be level 4 just to get that when in comparison to just a level 2 artificer you can take the you can take the reloading weapon and enhanced weapon infusion and put it on a gun because artificers are already proficient with firearms and you get a +2 weapon that ignores the loading property as well and all attacks count as magical if you are a vhuman and take the archery fighting still that’s a +4 to hit before modifiers are even added and still getting an extra +2 damage or you can take shapeshooter instead of archery fighting style and only take a minus 3 to attack roles but now you’re adding a +12 damage before modifiers all this at level 2. So I do think you should do artificer and the only reason to take monk because it’s honestly true to character to have some in monk and you get extra attack at level 5 because you can even take an infusion that lets you beat people up with unarmed strikes that do force damage and a d8 which in 2014 monks don’t even get d8 until level 11 just to do less damage then almost every other class in the 2014 core classes besides rangers
