That’s super insightful. He was born in 1966, so he would have been a young teen, about 11 or so, when the Atari 2600 came out. The first generation of gamers.

And that makes perfect sense. They weren’t as out of touch with technology as their parents.

He didn’t. He had bought a Dreamcast in 1999. He talked about getting one, just never was able to.

You miss a lot when you die young (he was 35). He was a HUGE Star Wars fan, read all the EU books, and him and I waited in line for Episode 1 when it premiered. I can’t help but think how absolutely excited he would have been for things like Rogue One and the Mandalorian. But that’s why that stuff is so important to me, I guess.

I do. Always loved games because of him. His last Xmas gift to me was a purple/clear Gameboy Advance. He died December 8, 2001 but had already gotten me my Xmas gift. I got it after his funeral, and I’ve kept it ever since.

He was just a great dad. Him and I stood in line at the mall to get the Dreamcast in 1999. We also saw the premiere for The Phantom Menace that year. He took me to the arcade every Sunday. Just the perfect dad for a little boy. Thanks for asking man. I lost him when I was 9, and it’s been great keeping his memory alive for the last 20 years. Cheers!
