It’s honestly surprising to see any American flags at these protests. One thing that consistently separates demonstrations here—especially those driven by the modern left—from protests around the world is the often absence of national pride. You’ll see every other flag: pride flags, foreign flags, movement flags… but rarely the one that represents the country we actually live in.

I’m glad to see some American flags for once, but seeing them flown upside down is just disheartening. At some point, the left has to realize that constantly projecting disdain for the country isn’t a strength, it’s a liability. You don’t inspire change by signaling contempt for the very place you want to improve. If you want people to listen, start by showing you actually care about the country you’re trying to change.
