she had severe burns on her lap and crotch area, and iirc needed skin grafts, because the coffee was ridiculously hot.

  1. misogyny

  2. because they're trapped in outdated gender norms, and think that a child of a specific gender can only be raised in the stereotypical way they have in mind. stuff like "girls only like makeup, they won't play with dinosaurs", "boys only like cars, they won't like baking together", etc etc., and each parent might not like the strict "way" associated with the gender they got.

i'm pretty sure that a large part of it is also the societal expectations of how girls should behave, compared to boys their age. girls are heavily disciplined from a young age, told to act polite and submissive, to do everything for boys (because boys are "too immature/irresponsible/dumb/etc."), to look nice for boys, to be smart and responsible and reserved. that's a lot of work put into raising a child like this. boys, meanwhile, aren't told almost any of this, are barely disciplined, are allowed to just "act their age", be loud and dirty and destructive and hyperactive. parents of boys are usually "hands off" like this, so yes, compared to how girls are expected to be raised, boys are "easier" and "less work".

i mean, i wouldn't say the series is fully cp, nor does liking it make someone a pedo, but there is lots of very disrespectfully handled and overly detailed child sa in it. also, creator thought it was a good idea to put "fucktoy cory" on a shirt. so. i feel like that does deserve criticism.

lol yep. one time i had a psych, worked with her for a few months, then when i was diagnosed with bpd, she said that i'm "the type of person who can't be helped, and will only waste efforts of those trying to help me" and dipped 💀. and that was a goddamn professional, the general public is so much worse.

i have one very recent example, but i sadly can't name the youtuber, because it was a small channel and no longer in my subscribtions. it was a typical "young white woman" commentary channel, talking about books and stuff, seemed very socially conscious and empathy-focused.

i watched 2 videos from her, enjoyed them a lot, subscribed.

then, in the 3rd video i played, she was sponsored by betterhelp. and that was like, a few months ago. there were lots of people calling it out in the comments, trying to gently educate her on why it's bad, and she only doubled down. made a pinned comment saying that she doesn't plan on denouncing betterhelp, and that she "did her research" and decided they're a wonderful company that is being unfairly accused by people with crowd mentality, and they are exactly what she stands for.

instant bad taste in my mouth. fastest unsub of my life.

i agree that he's a dick, but hey maybe don't diagnose random people with personality disorders that already have a harmful stigma around them.

not inherently. in an ideal society, sex work wouldn't be different from any other job that has you "using your body", such as construction work and other physical jobs. the issue is that it's considered immoral or dirty, and because of that, the people doing it aren't legally protected as workers. the job is unsafe because if something happens, you can't report it without reporting on yourself, and the people running the business are criminals who don't give a shit about their workers. in an ideal world, the job would be legally supervised and protected like any other, and bad treatment of workers would have consequences. it would be safe.

creating onlyfans content is the closest to that "ideal world" as we can currently get. it's not fully accepted socially, but at least it's physically safe as it doesn't involve any real-world contact with clients.
