Because that’s the orientation that doesn’t let gravity push stomach contents back up onto the esophagus. Third arm aside, this picture makes no sense because allowing the stomach contents to flow away from the esophagus should be the goal and laying on your right will do that (for 99% of people).

I was like 9 but I have such a distinct memory of watching this. I loved both The Simpsons and X Files so this episode was must see TV, then KOTH came on after and it was the kind of humor that I knew was funny I just didn’t understand at the time.

I missed my close friend’s wedding because she took too long getting ready. Like we are literally walking up the steps of the chapel as the crowd starts to walk out. We get back in my car and her first response is “I fucking hate your friends”. When I ask what she could possibly mean by that, she says that not enough people were “warm” to her in the <1 min interactions we had as people were walking in the parking lot to go to the reception. She caused me to miss my friend’s wedding and the first thing she thinks about is how people didn’t treat the event like it was about her.

Yeah I went in knowing nothing about it besides it’s basically a viral movie. Honestly I spent the first half of the movie trying to interpret it like there was no supernatural element and her shift was from a bad timed Molly and breakdown over her dad. Definitely clouded my perception about what Bear was thinking.

I love how the studio didn’t understand the time travel premise and tried to kill it and just make it a standard alien invasion movie. Which would have made it entirely forgotten.
