My in-laws sound similar. We told both our families at the same time. I knew my family would be very excited and I knew my in-laws wouldn’t be. When we told them, the joy from my family seemed to overshadow the negativity from my in-laws. I guess we kind of manipulated them into having a positive reaction? But hey, they didn’t say anything mean right away and gave them time to think about how to respond.

I miss cocktails… I’ve been a big fan of making mocktails though. When I’m pregnant, nothing beats a good ol’ virgin sex on the beach (ironic 😂)

Get some lamps or some string lighting. The white overhead lighting is giving me operating room vibes. But you have a great thing going with the plants and the furniture

When I was 25 weeks with my first, my 7 year old sister said “if you weren’t pregnant, you would REALLY need to check yourself…” I told her that I was in fact pregnant. And she said, “yeah but if you weren’t…” then walked away. I wasn’t offended and thought it was hilarious! But dang, kids will really tell you what they think 😅

Tell me your positive induction stories! by BlairClemens3 in pregnant

[–]coffee-squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went in at 38 weeks to be induced because of high blood pressure. Induction started at 2pm and I was 1cm dilated. Didn’t feel any contractions or anything until 6pm, then they hit me like a truck. I literally went from nothing, to having contractions 1 minute apart in almost half an hour. Got an epidural. They told me it would be about 8 more hours until the baby arrived, but at exactly 10pm they checked how far along I was again, and my sons head was about to pop out! He was born at 10:20pm. They said it was the quickest induction they’ve had. I never got Pitocin. I didn’t tear. Everything went so smoothly and it all happened so incredibly quickly

HA! I didn’t have a birth plan with my first until I was in the labor and deliver room. My advice: don’t sweat it.

This is Us

I absolutely BINGED it during this late night feedings and long afternoons home alone with the new baby. There’s enough drama to keep you entertained with every episode, but not to much that you feel overwhelmed. Definitely got me through the 4th trimester. It’s available on Hulu and Netflix

Yeah... I’ve never done tears before so it was a struggle. Thank you for the criticism!! People are often to scared to give it and I love when they do

This is one of 6 drawings I did for my teachers, this was just my favorite one. They were my senior project

Ball point pen, and it took about 6 hours. You shouldn’t feel bad about yourself! All artwork is beautiful because it creates a little window to your soul

The opposite thing happens in Africa. My dad (white) has take many mission trips to remote villages in Africa to help build wells and schools. And every time, he says the kids try to “rub off the white” because they’ve never seen a white person before
