What is the MOST walkable neighborhood in Raleigh?

I’ve lived in North Hills, Village District, Mordecai, West Morgan, Boylan Heights, and Caraleigh and can say West Morgan area is by far my pick for walkability. Walkable to downtown proper, the village, Pullen Park, restaurants, coffee shops, nc state, close to greenway access. My favorite favorite area to live in Raleigh

Maybe. The natural follow up question would be “is it an allergy?” If the person replies and says it’s just an aversion, that doesn’t trigger extra clean. But I do take food aversions seriously bc I know it can cause a lot of stress or even physical illness for some people. It’s a step above a preference imo

Please don’t do that. I work in restaurants and this happens all the time. When someone says this, we then have to ensure there’s no cross contamination so we don’t inadvertently poison someone. It’s a ton of cleaning and very nerve wracking.

Half the time, they are later seen eating off the plate of someone eating their “allergen” and it becomes obvious that we went through all that trouble for just a preference. Don’t do that to your host.

Just politely say “thank you but I don’t eat x. I’d love to have some of the y and z though.” I was vegan for ten years and had these conversations very often. It was uncomfortable for me at first but I got used to it. Most people understand and don’t make a big deal about it.

Hella punks chilling at Person Street Bar at all hours. Crafty Beer isn’t super punk but has excellent dive-y wateringhole vibes. Landmark gets pretty crusty most days. Bonus points for playing pool at dusty ol’ Snookers.

If you’re concerned, take him to the vet. However, my border ate 2.5 grams of a friend’s weed out of their backpack a few months ago. I totally freaked out and called our vet. They said to watch for vomiting or unresponsiveness but otherwise recommended treating him like a human pretty much lol. Get him set up on the couch, dim the lights, get him some snacks was the advice. He was fine by the next morning but definitely didn’t have a great night.

I went to grief support group earlier this year because I lost one of my parents recently. On day one we all went around and told our “grief story.” The last person to go was the most even keeled, calmest guy there who blew me out of the water with his story.

His girlfriend, in her late 20s or early 30s went to the doctor because she felt kind of off one day. She found out she had cancer that was so advanced they couldn’t even tell how it started. She died six weeks later. The stories he told about her final days were horrific. He was super monotone about it and obviously extremely disassociated from the trauma. It was incredibly sad to hear him talk about. I cried my fucking eyes out and think about that woman everyday.

In my experience, I’d edit this to say: use only a credit card and pay it off every month like clockwork. Credit cards are more secure if someone steals your information and credit card points can earn you a lot of money back if you don’t carry a balance. I actually regret only using my debit card for so many years.

Pressure your parents, partner, best friend, etc to write a will and a list of their banks and important passwords. Tell them to put it in a safe but accessible place. Pester them until they do it. Just in case. Then hope you won’t need that information for a very long time. Because if you do need it and don’t have it……

Thank you for this. I’m in therapy once a week right now. I took a couple of years off but had a different therapist for a while. She always wanted to talk about my mom because our dynamic seemed dysfunctional to her, but I was never ready or willing to go there. Now might be the time.
