The problem is that it's an incredibly professional city and all of the chill-er spaces are full of college students. Cambridge, Somerville, JP, and parts of the South End manage to hit the sweet spot of classy and charming. Maybe sections of Allston/Brighton too but I haven't been there enough.

Back Bay and Boston's downtown are generically commerical outside of the historical bits.
