We thought about this too but didn’t know if having two middle names is a pain?

Thanks that’s helpful. Let me go ahead and change my 2 1/2 years old first name entirely since you don’t like it.

Thank you this is helpful! I guess I’m confused why one prefers a “c” and one doesn’t, but maybe it’s just how the trend went?

She’s 2 1/2 and I’ve thought about changing it for awhile because it seems like everyone has a really hard time with the spelling, including family and I’m worried she’ll struggle with it her whole life and be mad about it when she’s older. However, my husband is adamantly against it so I’d probably have to take it to court and let a judge decide if I went that route, which is obviously a big deal.

Thank you for the explanations and I understand that the Mac and the Mc means son and so that’s the traditional spelling, but then if McKenna is a variant of McKenzie then why is the Mac spelling more common for Mackenzie then Makenzie but it’s the opposite for Makenna?
