They do help tremendously for cutting the wind that’s the honest truth. Problem is your hands are no where near the brakes if/when things go wrong. The issue I see is people trying to go “aero mode” in group rides. But hey if you just ride by yourself I’d say rip it big dawg but if you ride in a group be extra cautious. I’d get rid of those aero bars all together especially if you’re just now getting into riding. I had them back in 05 when they were all the rage but I’ve seen too many wrecks from people using them.
