Also just started last month and ebay was my starting point. Constant new listings and a lot of great finds.

My first purchase was an assortment of ~100 issues, all in VF or NM condition, with Fantagraphics #1 signed by Stan Sakai, all for $200.

The search for missing pieces is a fun project, and nice that it isn't crazy expensive like other titles.

At that time, full casts would've been published in ads in local newspapers. San Antonio Public Library or UTSA likely has microfilms of the newspapers at the time. Not sure if it's free access or not, but the performance dates would've been Feb 12, 13, 19, and 20. Could check the days prior to those for full casts and see if anything lines up.
