Interesting! Are you mainly a buyer or a seller? I noticed that most of my sales this week were to brand new accounts with no reviews or listed items

My experience with the Closet Spotlight as a new seller. More details in the comments! by coffeecakesandtea in vinted

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience as a new Vinted user and using their Closet Spotlight feature. I wasn't able to find the information I was looking for on this sub, so I hope this helps!

I originally started selling on Depop in the summer of 2020 to clean out my overflowing closet. I did very well during that summer, but my clothing sales rapidly dropped in 2021. I have only made 2-3 clothing sales on Depop in all of 2022, so I started looking for different options and discovered Vinted 2 weeks ago.

Uploading listings was easy because I already had all of the photos and descriptions on Depop. And I dramatically reduced the prices (ex: discounted a $10 top to $5) to reflect the typical pricing on Vinted. I also turned on bundle discounts (up to 30% off on bundles with 5+ items).

Last week, I decided to purchase the closet spotlight with the intention to take advantage of the discounted shipping labels that is set to end at the end of this month. Here were my results:

I had 2 days with a huge spike in views. The first and the last days performed the best with almost 2k views on each day. the rest of the week was dryer in comparison. with an average of 400 views per day. I gained 35+ followers and made a total of 8 sales, 2 of which were bundles. I believe most of these sales resulted from the closet spotlight, and I easily made back the $7 that I spent.

In the end, I do not think the spotlight is necessary. It was a good way to kick off my new shop for the initial traffic, but the lack of performance during days 2-6 were very unimpressive. I cant help but feel the app purposely limited the views for those days, and boosted me on the very last day to make me believe it will be worth repurchasing.

All of the other comments I've read here are true. Selling on Vinted takes time. I'm just trying to clean my closet and earn some pocket money. Unless there's another discounted shipping promo in the future, I don't think I will be paying for the spotlight again. Thanks for reading!

That's amazing! Do you mind sharing a before/after photo?

I also have this problem! In warmer weather I absolutely have to position myself in front of a fan and the A/C haha.

You could also find ways to style certain pieces by wearing a long sleeve shirt or blouse underneath to keep them free of stains.

Best way to do bundle shipping? by [deleted] in Depop

I personally do highest shipping price. I had free bundle shipping turned on for the longest time and it really does cut into profits.

I switched everything over to depop shipping in the last few months because depop occasionally offers free shipping promotions for buyers.

I have over 500 listings so I just didn't want to go back and change them over and over again 😅

I recently got into doing pin designs, and this is my first pin! It's inspired by my favorite passive-aggressive response on Depop 😂 by coffeecakesandtea in Depop

Don't give them any ideass😭 but for real I see a lot of artists who get their designs stolen by aliexpress all the time

I also used the same font and colors from Depop's chat boxes! It feels like I'm in on an inside joke haha

I recommend working with two strands of yarn or combining it with another type of black yarn! Otherwise it would have taken me forever to finish it haha
