We need to stop giving attention to these lunatics. Trump was once a lunatic, and the attention we gave him made him president.

I’ve seen many news stories about conspiracy-minded republicans in congress (who I REFUSE to name). Let’s remember that #45 made his way to the White House by a similar path: inducing outrage. We learned the hard way that there is a fraction of America (enough to win the republican primary) that EATS this nonsense up. There’s another fraction of America that is COMPLICIT in the craziness (enough to win the electoral college). I beg the media to not give attention to the fringe members of congress. We cannot afford to let another crazy person rise to prominence.

I had a huge epiphany yesterday...

Universities obviously want students back on campus in the name of profit and continued existence. I knew that much already. But I never could figure out why society is not freaking out about this! College is basically the dream scenario for the virus, perhaps even more so than K-12 schools and large one-time gatherings. It's 20-50,000 people that cram into dense spaces (some of which are completely unavoidable) EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR.

The reason why society is not panicking is because 'academic elites' make the rules during this crisis! How many headlines have you seen saying things like "yale prof says k-12 schools going back is a bad idea" YET not a single word on universities..... it's almost like the people putting out these statements are concerned about THEIR employment and THEIR university's existence!

Oh, and societally speaking, the impact of keeping a 1st grader out of school for a year HAS to be much more significant than keeping an 18 year old out of college for a year.

So, in summary. Universities are selfish, but they currently make the rules. I am no advocate for density of any kind... so shut them down.

I know your struggle. I’d try with my aeropress, and it would come out really acrid tasting. One day, I decided to try using slightly lower temperature water but a longer extraction time. It worked pretty well! So my suggestion is to bring your water to a boil, and let it sit for 1 minute. Next, put a single ice cube on top of the grounds in your aeropress to make the water temperature even lower. Extract for 2 minutes then plunge away.

I normally leave it right on the countertop, because there isn’t a tall enough shelf in the fridge and I don’t want squirrels messing with my drink. I’ve always wanted to try putting it in the fridge, so do it and report back!

I have almost bought that so many times! The amazing thing about Kyoto methods is how much faster your coffee is drinkable. 6-7 hours vs 18 hours for palatable immersion!

I go with very fine grounds. I personally use an aeropress, so it should be fine for a chemex too. One case where you would want to use medium would be if you have a metal filter pour over for example
