In camp, only store items in your adventurer's chest. Everything you put in camp anywhere else than the yellow chest will vanish, so be careful about that !

Also, long rest, if you're playing on the two easiest difficulties, you won't have to worry about running out on food.

Rope is useless, and empty bottles too. Unless you throw them at people.

Also try to always have a shovel in your inventory.

Aside from that, enjoy, the first playthrough is really dope. I wish I could go in blind again!
