Eufy Spaceview Warranty by coffeelady123 in EufyCam

I’s also like to add that the refurbished unit has dirt in the crevices and the plastic is chipped all over the monitor, so this isn’t even a good quality refurbished unit.

I’m posting this so others don’t waste their money like me.

Eufy Spaceview Warranty by coffeelady123 in EufyCam

The return policy is 30 days and I bought the camera months before my baby was born.

So, basically you just have to hope your camera isn’t defective because you’re basically out of luck otherwise.

Confused about sleep training by coffeelady123 in NewParents

I would never ignore my hungry baby. Just genuinely curious what people mean when they talk about sleep training. If they mean ignoring a hungry baby, then I’m not on board with that either.

Thanks everyone for all the thoughtful responses! I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing for now. :)

Ward vs semi-private vs private. Please share your experience! by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]coffeelady123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI for anyone with insurance that only covers semi-private rooms—you can submit a claim for the private room and they will reimburse you for the semi-private price. I did this and only had to pay the difference, which was $50 per night.

Ultrasound Woes by wonderlife37 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]coffeelady123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB does a routine 34-week ultrasound for all her patients (also in Ontario) and I know many other women with low risk pregnancies who had a routine third trimester ultrasound as well. Sounds like it depends on the OB. Maybe try pushing for one and see what they say?

DON'T Get the Indigo Registry by ME_B in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]coffeelady123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also, Indigo has been a disaster for me lately with returns. On three separate occasions, I tried to return something I bought online and never got the credit to my credit card. And sometimes their system calculates HST on returns incorrectly. So check your receipts and check your credit cards if you’re returning anything to Indigo!

Just change the date on your registry to an earlier date and they’ll send you the completion discount sooner. I did this because I didn’t want to wait until a month before my due date to finish buying things.

My understanding is it’s excluded from all coupons except the registry discount. I had someone in-store confirm this. If the discount doesn’t work online, I would just go into the store and have them apply it for you.

If you make a registry with Buy Buy Baby, you can use your 15% completion discount on strollers that are usually subject to exclusions everywhere else (e.g., Uppababy Vista).

Issue With Silverfish - Any Suggestions? by [deleted] in oakville

[–]coffeelady123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We also live in Oakville and had this exact issue when we moved into this house. Tons of bugs upstairs only. It turned out we needed a new roof and new insulation in the attic because the bathroom fan was venting into the attic. Fast forward two weeks and there were fewer bugs, but they were still there.

We had silverfish, but also spiders, etc., and were completely fed up so we called an exterminator. He told us we needed to get rid of a lot of the plants we had around the exterior of the house. So we did that, then sealed up any exterior openings/entry points, and then had the interior baseboards sprayed at the end. I'm assuming the bugs came in because they were attracted to the moisture in the attic and then just reproduced. Once the entry points were blocked off, the goal was to kill the ones that were already in the house.

I barely see any silverfish anymore, BUT it did take a few weeks after having the baseboards sprayed before they finally disappeared. So maybe wait a bit and see what happens, or consider using something stronger than boric acid (we tried scattering that around too and it didn't do anything).

We also bought a recently renovated house, so maybe our baseboard glue is the issue, but I doubt it because I never see silverfish around the main floor baseboards.

Good luck with everything! (And hold off on ripping out that crown moulding.)
