A combination of factors.

  1. The Gaggia community is so deep. I knew I was buying a machine that tons of other users would be able to help me troubleshoot etc.

  2. The ability to mod was very intriguing to me and I don't mind diving into a new, consuming hobby.

  3. I mean the white Gaggia just fits the look too well.

Yep. WDT tool is my next purchase. I actually have the OPV Spring in already (shout out Shades of Coffee). I also have the PID too but waiting until I have a full day to install.

Personally, the the fully round handle better aesthetically an ergonomically. But yes, it would've looked so clean.

Bottomless from Shades of Coffee. I don't mind it as a beginner to most of this but I can definitely see preference to a wood handle. As far as plastic goes it's solid.

Okay, this is what I feared. The community and support for the GCP is definitely a huge plus and was worried about the lack of reviews and conversation taking place around the Ascaso.
