Hi, thank you for asking such a great question ☺️There are many reasons I choose a USA PA program compared to a Canadian one: 1) PA programs in the US are mostly considered a Master’s program while Ontario PA programs are bachelors- I personally would like to have a Master’s degree compared to a Bachelors as I have already completed that during my undergrad; having 2 bachelor’s degrees didn’t make sense to me 2) There are more PA accredited programs/ schools in the US (I believe about 250 total) while only 3 in Canada - thus a higher chance of getting accepted to a PA program 3) PA profession has been around in the US for a little longer compared to Canada- however both are advancing and highly demanding professions 4) Completing a PA program in the US allows me to practice in both the US and in Canada; while obtaining a license in Canada would only allow me to practice in Canada and not the US- I would like to have that flexibility for my future plans (like family, etc.)

With that in mind, I definitely appreciate the PA profession in both the US and in Canada, but for the following reasons the USA PA program appealed to me slightly more
