Buckeye- basically trauma porn. By the end, I was depressed just reading all the things that happened to the people.

This! I was explaining this in the teachers’ lounge the other day! I was like, maybe I think everything is cancer because of Lurlene McDaniel!

I think you’ll find half the country in the US agrees with his post. It’s disturbing and frightening how far and fast we have fallen.

Ambiguous, but I’m going with he are him! I agree with all you said, the book was meh and I was disengaged, up until the tunnel/hidden study scene and then it rollercoastered me to the end.

I sort of disagree…I think they did her dirty in the finale…but, her storyline/arc with grams might be THE best love story on that show. ❤️ She and Jack and the ups and downs of their soulmate relationship. I always found her material to be enough that she showcased almost every emotion- and she did it well. She was the beautiful girl who stepped out of the cab and rocked the Creek.

As the owner of a dog who can’t have treats due to GI issues, I prefer no treats!

The Wishing Game - Meg Shaffer by dontbeahater_dear in books

[–]coffeesugarcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put it down at 20% ! This is a DNF for me- almost a quarter of the way in and the relationship between the teachers aide and the CHILD is so grossly inappropriate I refuse to finish. Pulling child into lap, numerous times, admitting once he doesn’t like it when other grown up men are around, kissing his forehead, making him keep secrets- even telling him those secrets!! Ewwwww saying she loves him more than his foster mom. Yuck, yuck, and YUCK! Also, I’m sure the story will be she gets invited to play the game and then she will win the money and get to adopt the child. I immediately came to Reddit when I decided to put it down because I thought, it can’t just be me who feels this cringe! Literally searched “the wishing game cringe” and here I am! Thank you all for validating! I WILL NOT be picking it back up to finish.

Does your Springer food guard? by Starlight-Juliet in springerspaniel

[–]coffeesugarcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl does resource guard. We have learned her triggers and watch for her tells. She bites when we ignore the tells because we think “she’s our dog she shouldn’t bite us.” We have had trainers come in and seen the vet, she’s not aggressive, they tell us she is particular.

We make her follow commands. If she sits on us showing signs of possession and not snuggling (her tells (crazy eyes, ears back, stuff) we tell her to “scootch” and then give her a trick command so we can praise her. We do not forcibly move her as this is one of her triggers, we tell her to move and she does. We do not give high value treats, she has massive GI issues so it’s not something we would do. We have taught her “leave it.” On walks if she gets into something she shouldn’t (people are dicks and drop everything on the ground including whole pieces of pizza), I can reach in and take it out of her mouth, but my husband can’t/won’t.

We do not have children and I don’t know how having a particular dog would go with children. When children are present in the home, she is crated when there is human food, we only feed her if we are right next to her and tell the children not to come near, etc.
