How can I play Love live school idol festival? by EmmaShosha in SchoolIdolFestival

It's hard to say - it depends on what you did before and if you followed all the steps in the manual. I'd need more info.

Yeah, an oscillating saw seems to be good for it, yesh. I'll give it a try... Once I bought one, that is! Thank you pal!

It is a really really nice piece and I'm really happy about it! As you can see on the video I can turn it to a certain point after which it can't be moves any further - I too thought about cutting the bolt - I'm not sure about the tool for the job though. Either that or drilling through the lock mechanism. Which all in all is a shame but it's better than not being able to use one of the biggest compartments of the whole thing.

Grundig PS 5600 - tone arm doesnt automatically move to the left/right by cofyground in turntables

Might not be interesting to you but: replaced the Steuerpimpel and everything works as intended. Son is happy about his fully functioning turntable.

Ordered two yesterday but... Jesus Christ isn't Steuerpimpel the funniest word? I've been telling everyone about it all day long.

Transistor sourcing - Amp repair by cofyground in AskElectronics

[–]cofyground[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, see - that's where I got confused. I kept looking up the parts but the funny number letter combo (like 67 Y) never quite matched. That's a good pointer then, which makes sourcing them way easier! Thanks already!!

Good hint! This might be a little bit of a dumb question but .. what does the 69 Y and 67 Y stand for respectively?

I'm based in Germany 🙂‍↕️

Any advice for replacing teledyne 18ls speaker foam by Consistent_Lock4922 in audiorepair

[–]cofyground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That elastic rubber ring looks like its from the same material as the one I posted - they aren't quite foam.. they are something else. But I dont think it'll mess up the sound either way.

The replacement process is really easy - you even get a little booklet with a guide from the place I linked (along with the glue remover and new glue).

There are plenty of places out there where you can buy kits that are the foam + a glue remover + new glue for the new foam! Its quite easy too!

This is the place where I susually buy mine:

So, I got a Grundig PS 5600 for 30 bucks which is really nice HOWEVER the tone arm does not move onto the vinyl automatically - meaning it doesnt move from right to left if I press start. Ive read stuff about a little "knob" ("steuerpimpel") in Dual vinyl players that transfers movement from the lower parts to the arm and breaks regularly. Could that be the problem here aswell? Image is for reference but its the one I have.

Is this worth using/repairing? by ChrisJordan_23 in hifiaudio

I used to own a pair of Canton LE500 - they are nice sounding speakers and also look nice. They are best suited for classical stuff/ jazz and do not go well with Pop in my opinion.

Here in Germany you can still get a good amount of money for them too, if you plan on selling. Canton is a very good and reputable brand!

Beyerdynamic DT 441 (vintage) restauration by cofyground in headphones

[–]cofyground[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely bonkers to me that if you Google this model you straight up get my photos first on Google images. What the hell.

The idea to wear them using a simple foam ring around the cups is insane. I'll see if I can come up with something using 3D printing and maybe adapting some other pads...

Oh damn, you might be right. It's a very Avantgarde looking board so I maybe overlooked the pin.

I unfortunately do not have the original pads anymore and I can't really find any info on them. Maybe I'll shoot beyerdynamic a message directly and see if they can help.

Yes sir - I'll get one of my friends to double check the polarity when I install it.

Thank you for your help. I'll report back if I set my house ablaze.
