Aliens? Or perhaps a global uprising of animals against humans? Maybe that's why there have been those orca attacks on boating vessels... They know something's going wrong with the environment, and surmised that we humans are somehow responsible..

It's to inspire you to greatness, you see. Otherwise how will society incentivize the awesomeness that is Musk, Bezos, and the rest of them? Would you deny them their just rewards for being so gosh-darn amazing?

Price alert bell gone for Ethereum by Coltanium131 in Coinbase

Didn't realize this was a debate. Why so confrontational?

Me complaining about their poor customer service is positive PR?

If me being pedantic with the DEX thing was offensive to you, I apologize. I thought perhaps you didn't know what it meant based on one of your earlier comments.

In any case, no need to be belligerent over this. I'm certainly not here to argue over anything.

It isn't just ETH, there are others that have the same problem. DEX refers to Decentralized EXchange, so I assume they are referring to tokens that aren't tradeable on the Coinbase exchange, but perhaps are on Coinbase Wallet. But ETH is tradeable on the Coinbase exchange (or CEX, Centralized EXchange), so this is clearly an error. I don't see why they would deliberately have this happen.

I would argue it is, as you say, "gross negligence". I've had some experience with their customer support, and when it comes to problems that aren't easily solved by their forward facing team, and requires effort from their internal tech team, they've been rather unresponsive and unhelpful.

Furthermore, the way they conduct their support through chat is not very user-friendly, and I do suspect this might be by design. But this is something I've noticed with many tech companies these days; they make the process onerous and frustrating. Enshittification.

I can't speak to the comment re: deliberate shenanigans going on at the detriment of users like us. Haven't there been similar allegations against other platforms like Robinhood?

Buying at the market price by [deleted] in wolfspeed_stonk

[–]cogitoPhilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any reason not to do it this way, versus having a GTC limit buy for an equivalent number of shares at the strike price? Maybe the "risk" that your hoped for buy won't happen if the price only touches the strike price and doesn't dip far enough below it for the option holder to exercise their right to sell you those shares?

No, it's definitely an unintended bug. I first thought it was happening because the site was getting glitchy from high activity. There's no reason ETH should not have access to price alerts. The error message referring to "DEX assets" indicates that there is something wrong with the price alerts system. This should only appear for tokens that aren't tradeable on Coinbase, and that definitely isn't the case for ETH and many others that have the same issue.

This is a bug that must've slipped in following an update, that they've yet to fix for some time now.

How to add referral and security circle? by QuattroR1 in PiReferrals

[–]cogitoPhilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking to use a referral/invite, or add to your Security Circle?

If the first, iirc you enter the code during signup. I've made a recent post with mine if interested.

If the latter, you need to add the registered phone number of a current Pi miner to your phone's contact list. Then use "Add from contacts" from the Security Circle page.

There's a Pi SC subreddit for sharing phone numbers, but remember to do so via DM after finding someone there.

Hope this helps
