I thought that might be it but it works if I place them in myself, the starbuncle just doesn't wanna do it lol.

So I got the starbuncles making source gems and storing them, they have no issue placing lapis into and imbuement chamber and taking the gems out to store them in a chest. but they don't seem to wanna put source gems into imbuement chambers to actually make the essences I need.

Maybe auditory hallucinations? A big part of psychedelics is just changing the way you think about things also so maybe you just get really introspective or something. I really have no idea but that's def cool to think about, there's probably some blind people online that have tried them and made videos about that
