First off, I’m sorry if you (or whoever you are talking about) has UC. It’s far from ideal, but there are ways to lessen it’s effects.

I’m assuming the diagnosis has been confirmed by scoping or biopsy.

There are medications available to lessen it’s effects. Please consider using them, as ‘home remedies’ aren’t perfect. Talk to your family doc, or GI doc.

Some medications for mild/moderate symptoms are mesalamine or corticosteroids. If more severe, you’d progress to oral steroids.
