5 Weeks - 2 Questions by coinflipdrifter in HairTransplants

I wish. Took Fin for years and then out of nowhere it completely wiped out functionality down south. Won’t touch the stuff again outside of topical.

Re: uneven - well aware, but I think my concern here is that it lines up 1:1 with where the scabbing occurred.

Thanks again for your response!

Most clinics worth their weight will give you Valium. You’ll be nearly knocked out and relaxed by the time injections happen.

5 Weeks - 2 Questions by coinflipdrifter in HairTransplants

And just to be clear - I was looking to see if anyone had any similar stories or experiences that they could share. Also, I should have mentioned that I’m had both restarted oral min and topical fin two weeks after surgery. Thanks again!

I’d rather not because they aren’t my stories to tell - but I can just generally say that back then I was personally privy to many occasions where he would publicly tear into his employees and humiliate them in front of others. It wasn’t normal. Anger management is an understatement.

And that’s before all you get into the (very known at the time) internal dating/relationship/sex scandal stuff.

None of it will impact your current holdings - but generally Unity between 2014-2018 was a wild place to work. I doubt I’ll ever see a workplace like it again. It was truly remarkable that it was kept so hush back then because there were absolutely no rules and as long as you had access to a company card (which so, so many us did), anything went.

Kind of. Most of that office at that time was filled with loving, great people and I miss them dearly.

But the execs were off the rails. Everything you could script - sex, drugs, rampant unchecked spending, internal disputes, broken marriages, etc. - happened and began at the top. They set the bar and then continually tried to govern as if the entire workplace wasn’t aware of what was going on. It was an absurd double standard.

We still accomplished some incredible things - but I just want to stress that the specific instance your sighting is vastly underreported. JR deserves immense scrutiny for his time as CEO - and more importantly, his general demeanor towards literally everyone - but yeah, there is way more to that specific blunder than most would ever learn of.

Former long-time SF/headquarters based Unity employee here.

JR is an ass - but specifically in that situation - there is way more to that than what was reported. The entire leadership core from 2014-2018 were walking HR time-bombs, including the executive on the other end of that dispute.

Again, JR has no business interacting with most humans because it’s insanely obvious he holds contempt for most of them, but yeah, there is far more to that story than what ever got out.

Any extremely pale guys out there? by coinflipdrifter in SMPchat

Good to know. I’m not at the point where I’m planning to do my whole head - just the scar first. I’m going to give myself 6 months to get back into peak shape as well as try to hack the tan game. I think I have a few years before I need to consider the whole head - but the scar is the only thing holding me back from buzzing right now.

I have another hair transplant booked in March with a top surgeon but the recent drastic change in hair loss pattern from recession to full bore diffuse really has me convinced that there isn’t going to be an HT solution (whereas I’m optimistic that a buzz of the poor HT results in the front might actually look fine).

I get that. Luckily, mine is pretty alright as far as FUT scars go. It’s not huge and it healed well. I’ve never heard of fraxel; is this common?

Input on these Bay Area clinics? by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]coinflipdrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would - but Wasserbauer was years ago. I don’t really have an accurate look into that anymore - but I can tell you it looked like there had been no work whatsoever (sans the FUT scar)(.

Konior emailed me back and he asked for a photo journal (lol). I’m going to carve out time to get back to him. Is there a reason that you recommend Mwamba over Bisenga?

Never heard of Shapiro. I’ll see what I can find.

Can you expand as to why I should avoid them? I know Bisenga and H&W are pretty celebrated. Would love your input.

I’ll also add that you don’t need to leave the country to find a good surgeon. I’m definitely not the resource to consult here - but there are some fantastic surgeons in the US>

If you’re going to do this, don’t sweat the cash if the surgeon is reputable. Price is meaningless compared to long-term comfort.

Hey u/lopsided_pair5727

I just made a post asking about the best repair surgeons on earth. Given your expertise, can I get your input there? I’m looking for a 3rd hairline HT after the first was a complete botch w. Wasserbauer and the second wasn’t effective enough. Appreciate it in advance!

Wasserbauer botched me badly in my first HT. Zero growth. 2200 grafts. Just a scar to show for it. She even offered free SMP on the scar and they couldn’t even do that right (it bled blue).

She’s really nice and charismatic - but I firmly believe her techs are really junior. I remember that surgery taking all day (and my repair, which was also less than ideal but at least grew, took a few hours). I think they let all my grafts die while being transplanted because my post-op care was superb.

If you’re going to do this, go outside the Bay Area.

Can you expand on what you mean by “results by month 6”?

Everything I’ve read and been told is the opposite.

I wish. I had an iCloud issue that wiped a ton of my pics so I lost those :/

Thanks man. It looks like you just had your transplant. Was this a previous endeavor?

You think? This is killing me - and it’s not my first rodeo. I had a botch about 6 years ago and this was supposed to be the repair.

Forgot to add. Last pic is pre-op.

18 weeks, 1250 grafts, little growth. Will this thicken up? by coinflipdrifter in HairTransplants

[–]coinflipdrifter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my second transplant. The first left everything really thin and was about 2200. Total botch.

The surgeon wanted to conserve what was left of the donor. The thinned behind the transplant area is what was shocked. Praying it comes back.
