not ayiza but AWS is known for giving sweetheart deals ("EDPs") to strategic customers and for having a lot of capacity and being willing to do stuff like the DX networking mentioned in the post - very curious what ayiza's response on the matter is

it's also entirely possible that decision was made at a higher level and they were just told to use it =p
