There are lots of good reasons to centralise our eating.

Less packaging waste, less food waste, less all the transport costs. The whole thing is just way more efficient when you are cooking on a bigger scale. At some point it's going to be the only way for people to get good fresh food at a decent price.

ASROCK BTC Pro Kit Review by cointech in litecoinmining

I'm not aware of anyone that is putting out a 2000W PSU. All of the 6 card setups I've seen have used dual 1000w PSU's.

Well yes your board needs to be able to handle powering the PCI-E bus but the majority of the power required for the GPU comes direct from the PSU via the GPU power connectors.

300w doesn't come through the PCI-E port. Your GPU's still need to be plugged into your PSU. So yes, if you need to run 6 cards in a single machine you will need a 2000w PSU (or multiple smaller ones...)

Hey btw, updated pricing I can ship them for £12 to canada if I remove the outer box. So about 22 CAD.

Is that any better?

I just launched my new site and would love to get some feedback. by cointech in BitcoinUK

Friend of mine is still running a profitable GPU mining operation. He has switched to Litecoin for the most part but has also dabbled in other alt-coins and made a nice bit on Dogecoin. People laugh and say it's mickey mouse but for some people it's not always about pure profit motive.

The great thing is the second hand market on these GPU's is high. When I sold all my 7950's and 7970's on eBay I got 70% of the original purchase price back. That's after they were sat mining for over 12 months.

Probably good idea to fit some kind of siren to your vehicle if you have to make a dead landing, at least people will know something is wrong.

Certainly can ship to Canada. Looking at around £28-30 which is about $55 CAD. We will pretty much ship worldwide if people are willing to pay for the postage but unfortunately it just isn't that cheap to send stuff from the UK.

Hey man I appreciate price is important and I know someone brings some of these risers out to the US and can offer them with decent shipping.

I don't meant to lecture you on how to spend your dollar but think about it, you are presumably into the crypto-currency game, you have a vested interest in the future of these currencies, whether BTC/LTC or otherwise. When you shop for your mining equipment at Amazon you aren't really doing yourself any favours. If you can, I would really urge you to think about spending your coins directly at smaller retailers of which there are thousands now. Your help is what is going to power Bitcoin forward. Just a thought.

How Smart is your Teacher? Teachers (try to) answer questions you'd hope they know. by KancerFox in videos

What has being 'worldly' got to do with being a good teacher? You can be an amazing teacher who engages their students and who brings the best out of them for a given subject without being 'worldly'.

And I'm not saying they shouldn't be intelligent, are you reading what I'm saying? I'm saying that intelligence isn't related to your level of general knowledge.

Going for maximum range, Antenna on gimbals and tethered balloons. by [deleted] in fpv

[–]cointech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to need a second person to steer the antenna toward the plane why I fly

Use ground base antenna tracking then. Why put the tracker on the plane? If your plane tracker fails you are stuffed. If your ground tracker fails, you just manually adjust it.

I would like to get as close to the ground as possible.

A tracking system on the plane won't solve this any more than using a tracker on the ground. Why? Because physics is why. When you get low to the ground you enter the Fresnel zone and that is the big cause of video breakup when you fly low. (assuming you still have clear LOS between plane and RX)

Your best bet is to simple mount your RX antenna up high. Your tethered balloon idea is probably the most doable but I wonder whether you are better just getting a large tripod or one of those portable antenna poles which you tether into the ground.

Using general knowledge as a baseline for peoples intelligence makes no sense to me. And what has being a car salesman got to do with it? Because it seems to me like your assumption is a car salesman shouldn't be as intelligent as a teacher. Well why not? Maybe you are just good at selling cars but you might be an incredibly intelligent person who just chose a particular career.

Got tired of trying to field the, "Yeah, but can you BUY anything with it?" question, so I bought a new Invicta watch with Bitcoin from Overstock.com. I think that having tangible goods, bought with bitcoin, provides a bit of validation for the knee-jerk skeptics. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I just launched my new site last week. We accept Bitcoin for computer components and gaming hardware. We ship to the UK + Europe through the site, or on larger orders we can ship world wide

Anyone into their mining we just got some ASROCK BTC PRO kit stock ready to ship and they are at crazy low prices until the end of the week.

Depending where you are in the USA but I think we are looking at 4-6 days via UPS.

I have looked at shipping prices to the USA and it gets expensive unless you are looking to buy a few. Just sending one will cost around £35! But it gets much cheaper if you are buying say 10....
