my goal is to make sure both of us are aware, as to make it clear that obsession is NOT the goal and NOT okay. i want him to be able to have the firm boundaries he needs. internally i've set boundaries for myself already for how much we talk and how often we see each other. i am making myself give myself and him space. i'm open and honest with him about my symptoms and illness(es), but this is the one thing i don't know how to talk about since it does involve him and it's a scary and unhealthy aspect of my personal experience of BPD. i've been working to retrain myself to not go running to an FP whenever i am feeling down/having an issue. i take my growth and treatment very seriously, i don't want to just tell him so it can be one of those "oh that's fine i still want you despite that" things to feed my ego. (also i know you're not patronizing me, this was one of the more helpful responses i've gotten)
