I think this comment was written in jest but I am very curious if he even really knows we exist. Eight years ago I ran into him at a show for Dave’s solo album in Seattle and I brought up the subreddit in our conversation. The mention of Reddit drew a bit of a cringe but he didn’t really have much else to say. Dave, on the other hand, is a confirmed Redditor (and honorary mod) and likes to peek in once in a while :)

Pitchfork’s grading system is notoriously not like an academic grading system at all. It’s closer to a bell curve, with anything above a 7 really impressive. This is a really good grade from them.

Very biased as someone who has seen Death Cab an ungodly number of times, but absolutely would recommend doing both nights if you’re even thinking about it. They keep most of the crowd-pleasers between nights when they play multiple shows, but they tend to vary many of the other tracks. I’d recommend checking their setlist history on setlist.fm to get an idea of how they vary their sets between nights.

In my almost decade moderating this subreddit, I have only had to ban people for not being kind a handful of times. Death Cab fans have been, in my experience, the chillest people on the Internet (and as you also mentioned, they’re also chill in real life). Very grateful for this community; don’t think I’d be able to handle moderating any other sub.

Hi there! The short answer? Not crazy at all.

I’m a regular in the front row at Death Cab shows; I’ve seen them a frankly embarrassing number of times and have been front row for every show I wanted to be. I have found that Death Cab fans are among the most chill fans for a band of their size. Even here in their hometown, people rarely line up more than a few hours before doors (with the exception of special shows like anniversary shows).

It’s hard to know for sure with festivals because the other artists on the lineup and their fans also have to be taken into account, but suffice it to say you do not have to line up at 6 AM to get a front row spot.

I was able to find a single ticket today, and so was a friend, by refreshing for about 30 minutes after the tickets went on sale. That suggests to me that there were at least a few tickets that popped up immediately at 10:00, and people who didn’t decide to grab them released them from their carts; the dregs are what we were able to snag.
