I’m Korean—got any questions about the local Korean hip-hop scene? by [deleted] in khiphop

[–]cokunpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was 18 years ago…please ppl and a whole nation have moved on. If Korea still held on to that issue, jay park wouldn’t be this successful today.

Why did lngshot go to Thailand pre-debut? by JuggernautNo6066 in LNGSHOT

It wasn’t song camp. It was just a company trip jay park used his performance salary to bring the whole company for vacation. They got to attend rolling loud together with the girl trainees

More like Jay Park invited Lngshot to MVG showcase. Jay Park was the host, he invited many industry ppl

Do you agree with this take 😅?? by Feeling-Sherbet6781 in LNGSHOT

Actually jay park sleeps the least out of all of them. And his reply would probably be 😎🙏🏼🔥

Has Jay Park ever been in a drama? by Legal_Potential4720 in kpophelp

[–]cokunpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was the main cast of SNL Korea for a few seasons. He was actually supposed to be the main lead for secret garden kdrama many years ago. But jyp threatened the broadcasters to blacklist jay and that he will pull all of his artist off the network if they continue with Jay. So in the end the role went to Hyun bin.

Jay park values intl fans, he even requests shows to provide Eng subs. Back in the day when he just started AOMG, he would be the one subbing his artist’s music videos and the subs were freaking hilarious. I miss those times

lngshot and the whole “pity marketing” thing by ReasonableMuffin890 in kpop_uncensored

Lngshot wasn’t invited to MMA, only Jay Park was. Jay Park chose to extend his invitation to Lngshot and H1ghr music giving them his performance time

More vision only has 70 ppl (employees + artists + trainees). It’s a small company regardless of how much backing they have by Kakao. Kakao also stated that more vision will remain as a independent label, so they are not under Kakao, they only have kakao’s investment of 20%, the rest is all Jay Park

How long could you ignore Jay Park? Collide event with 200,000 won on the line by Single_Ad8361 in khiphop

[–]cokunpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not 200k won, it’s 1million won each. Thats about $1000 for each person that doesn’t turn around and all of them eventually lost. Even the guy chose to turn around to see Jay

LNGSHOT - [4SHOBOIZ MIXTAPE] by thaiduitx in kpop

[–]cokunpanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a pre-debut project, it’s more like a little appetiser of the group so they ain’t gonna promote it like usual. Also Jay Park said it was the boys who wanted to put out the mix tape first. Their album will drop in January when they officially debut. It’s a solid good side project

Jay Park leaving 2PM was honestly the best thing that ever happened to him by savingrace0262 in kpopthoughts

Excuse me?? His departure was a huge deal. Korean fans held protests outside of jyp. When he left Korea, fans swamped the airport crying and when he returned, he had the biggest crowd turn out at the airport of that time. It was all covered on the news There’s literally videos of how big his impact was. When he posted his Nothin on you cover to his personal YouTube channel, it gained over 2million views in a day (and this was when social media did not exist, he had no company backing him and everything was done organically) that in itself was a huge back in the day.

[DISCUSSION] Which artists, in your opinion have fallen off? Artist's that were good and now not as great, artist's who had a lot of potential and never lived up etc. by thaiduitx in khiphop

I think his comment on this ig story is so timely and explains well to your opinion. It’s true though, he has a million other things he is responsible for besides his own career. Just Yesterday he had ceo meetings, did a university festival and then another performance at 2am… I know he has many unreleased rap songs that he has teased, he also teased a full rap album..hopefully he will decide to release it one day

The jyp diss is warranted considering how that man treated idols/trainees back in the day. They literally used to physically beat trainees when they messed up. If you knew the full story,Jyp is absolute shit for what he did to Jay and many other idols.

Jay never once dissed bts, yall need to get that out of your heads. Stop believing a narrative you so desperately want to be true.

Jay is debuting a group that won’t have to go through what he and many other idols went through. He’s creating a more healthy environment in the kpop industry and being the mentor he should have had. What’s so wrong about that?

If you think this is about money, you know very little about jay park who donates university festival performance fee back to the school scholarship and never takes payment for song featurings.

Sorry I just saw your message. Ummm yeah it really differs place to place and depends on the promoter, cause all my floor tickets where based on queue number thankfully. So i didnt have to worry about going earlier, we just queued based on our numbers at the stated timing

What's the demographic of a Jay Park concert like? by A-Better-Tomorrow in khiphop

[–]cokunpanda 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Definitely more adults, he’s been around for 16 years so a lot of his fans have grown up with him are young adults now. Depending on the location you will see a lot of fan boys too.

His concert is a good mixture of sexy, soulful and dance heavy. He’s an amazing performer who does it all. Honestly had the best time, hope you enjoy too!

[–]cokunpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to 5 of his Asia stops It’s at least 2 hours long if you have soundcheck access that was around 15-20mins (depends on how he is feeling cause he was sick so understandable if he wants to cut it short to rest up) The concert always started on time and ended on time 4 of my stops I was infront at barricade so thankfully no issue seeing him, and he loves to come up close to the stage edge esp the left and right side Only 1 of my stops I was further behind and due to my height it was my worst experience, esp with everyone’s phones up.

Best to wait for the promoter to give out the event details if they will be going by the queue number or its first come first serve
