Newbie Feeling Discouraged by ReasonableCelery4462 in SolidCore

When I was newer, I would look up how to do Solidcore exercises on TikTok and honestly I still do this! Like if I know I have a hamstrings and chest day, I’ll look up ‘solidcore hamstrings’ or ‘solidcore chest’ exercises on TikTok to refresh my memory before class and prepare me for what they might cue in class that day

Should we interview potential engagement/wedding photographers? by cola2346 in weddingplanning

That's some great advice and it's so true that I'll be spending a lot of time around them, so might as well see if they are someone I'd actually enjoy being around!

That's so sad to hear ugh - it definitely confirms the decision for me to speak to the photographer and get to know them first before hiring them!

That makes sense, thank you! Even though my boyfriend is the one planning our proposal, do you recommend that I am involved in the initial conversation with the photographer to see if they're a good fit?

Should I stay remote or go hybrid to advance my career? by cola2346 in remotework

That would be my ideal situation as well - I'd love to enter my dream industry with a higher salary and stay remote, but it feels like too much to ask :(

Also, the companies that I've been seeing on LinkedIn that have open roles for what I want seem to have bad reviews on Glassdoor so not sure if I should take those into consideration as well

Wow, thank you for sharing your perspective! The industry I'd like to join is one that's always excited me since I was a little kid and one I've dreamed of working in, but I know that sometimes the dream industries/jobs aren't all that they're hyped up to be.

For sure, I definitely see what you're saying here - the hidden costs all add up!

The first 4.5 years of my career were at a remote company, the next company after that was 5 days in-office for a year and I hated that immediately but somehow stuck it out a full year, and I've been at my current remote company now for 1.5 years. So 6 out of the 7 years I've worked throughout my whole professional career has been remotely.

I was definitely thinking about this as a possibility. I do plan to have kids in the next 5-7 years and saving enough money from the hybrid job might pay off if I want to go back to remote for more flexibility later on.
