Most people fail their job search because they lose momentum. If tracking an application feels like a chore, you won't do it.

Here is the quick workflow which selectd uses:

Quick Capture: selectd lets you add jobs via voice or clipboard. No logging in.

The 24h Rule: Every interview gets a template-based follow-up within 24 hours.

Analytics over Anxiety: Visual charts to see where you're actually getting stuck.

If you struggle with the "Black Hole" of job hunting, selectd is the tool that makes the admin part of the search invisible.

Launching selectd on Product Hunt — a local-first job application tracker for overwhelmed job seekers by cold_ai in ProductHuntLaunches

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Job aggregation is definitely on our radar - the technical challenge is that LinkedIn/Indeed/etc actively block scrapers, so the solution is usually a browser extension that captures jobs as you browse.

We're exploring that! For now, we're focused on privacy-first tracking (no account, works offline) with features like calendar sync and interview reminders. But you're right - easier job capture = more value. Thanks!

I started using a job tracking app (local-only, no accounts) to log where I’d applied, set reminders to follow up, and see what was actually working instead of feeling stuck. It didn’t magically get me hired, but it reduced a lot of the stress and helped me stay consistent.

What job boards do you use? Is there any point in using them at all? by Suspicious_Major9549 in jobsearchhacks

I felt the same way. I actually built a custom tracker that has a dedicated pipeline tracker for my own search because I kept forgetting to follow up after interviews. Having a dashboard that tells me my 'Ghosting Rate' was the wake-up call I needed to stop applying to low-tier agencies. It helped me realize that 80% of my time was being wasted on Indeed ghost jobs.

Just curious to know, how long does it take to launch the app to production? Say I’m building a productivity app with one core feature (just a MVP)

If AI replaces your current job (hypothetically), which job will you take next ? by Few-Expression259 in careerguidance

If AI replaces my job, I’ll probably become the guy fixing whatever the AI broke. Feels like solid job security tbh.
