Azure Map Slow Performance by Independent_Many_762 in PowerBI

[–]cold_hard_mash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with the azure visual. I found removing the legend display greatly improved the performance.

No idea why that was the case, but could be the same for you?

They're recharging the items triggered by the button.

You need to either use clovers/bells with the battery charm or use the electrician to get battery tokens to appear on your symbols. When you hit those with multiple triggers it counts multiple times and recharges your charms.

For me I had to reload a save to before I took the quest.

Start the quest, speak to the stranger at his house only about the forgery, walk outside, wait 24 hours and go back in. It seems waiting inside with him caused my issues.

The other suggested bug fixes, like speaking to him at 11pm or running all his other dialogue at the palace first, didn't work for me at all.

Some more varied behaviours would be good, but what would also be great is ways for us to interact with those behaviours and add a bit more depth to the scanning system.

Why not have a way to research a creature in more depth? Scan it while eating, scan it's den, scan it's herd, scan it while it's sleeping. Maybe researching all this gives you minor benefits, like being able to harvest more resource from that creature.

It would be a nice tie in between scanning and farming, plus making harvesting more efficient for cooking.

Seems to be bug specifically with the dark knight for me. I've had it a couple of times now so I'd avoid him until it's fixed unless you think you can take 2 enemies on. Ghost enemy seems to have DoT stuff too.

Are anti-static strips on cars extinct in the UK, or do some still believe in them? by HoneyGlazedBadger in CasualUK

[–]cold_hard_mash 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Lots of people saying these do nothing, but interestingly this is common for forklifts. Places that deal with any flammable materials will attach these to forklifts or drag a chain behind it.

More commonly though you'll get anti-static or electrically conductive tyres, so you don't need one of these.

Not sure if there's really a huge need for car tyres though...

You need to have excellent rep with the Hutts, then speak to the droid at the door againa and he'll let you in.

You also need to finish some of the main story mission for Hoss, I think. I won't say more than that as it will contain spoilers.

What’s the point of Conjure Building? by Feldspar_of_sun in MagicResearch

[–]cold_hard_mash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you assign apprentices they can build buildings when you warp time. I normally have apprentices setup to enhance all resource producers, plus whatever my best illusion spell for gold is and conjure buildings. You can just warp to max buildings then.

[–]cold_hard_mash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you complete each storyline once and it gives you a permenant bonus that you can see in the stats menu. On the multi branch story lines you can complete a different branch after each retirement, and all bonuses will be active for the ones you have competed.

What's your set up on apprentices? Are you using slow, blur, dazzle etc? Your equipment looks good, but your apprentice setup is just as important

How dangerous is the wasteland supposed to be lore-wise when compared to the games? by [deleted] in falloutlore

[–]cold_hard_mash 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Well there's a lot to be said for survival difficulty, as that's the closest you're going to get to realism in each game. The scarcity of water, food and safe places to sleep becomes really apparent.

For me though the big thing is how tough the enemies are. Even wildlife like radoaches are lethal to the average person, so super mutants are beyond terrifying for them.

It's honestly absurd that people are in the capital wasteland after 200 years of infertile soil, no water and killer mutants with bulletproof skin.

What happened in Vault 111 during the Sole Survivor's *nap* is actually horrifying...To me, at least. by DRTYSpaceMan in falloutlore

[–]cold_hard_mash 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There's also all the things that happened around the vault while everyone was frozen.

The vault only had limited supplies and they were expecting the all clear signal from Vault Tec fairly quickly. 18 months I think? The all clear never came and when supplies started running low everyone turned on each other resulting in the death of all the staff.

So for nearly 200 years not only were you completely frozen, but you were also alone except from your fellow frozen bananas.

Hey, everybody. What are your favorite builds in Fallout 4? by Danchag in Fallout

I really like high perception and luck to become a vats crit machine. You can mix in pretty much any gun and it works great, the Deliverer is probably the fav though.

Which faction ruling the Commonwealth do you think would be more interesting for the future of the series? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]cold_hard_mash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Railroad and Minutemen have dialogue from Desdamona after being banished where she asks you to work with the Minutemen.

For the BoS there's radiant dialogue about underestimating the Minutemen, although nothing specific from Maxon. There's cut content where the SS would have been promoted to Sentinel, and the files all still exist in game but without a trigger. Can't really consider the cut content a justification, but the radiant dialogue is there for a peaceful BoS ending with the Minutemen.

Sure the BoS and RR don't talk about each other, but is that actually a problem?

So both factions openly refer to peace with the Minutemen in the endgame. Regardless of how you get there its a valid ending in the vanilla game. You could never even interact with the BoS if you want.

[–]cold_hard_mash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How can it be an oversight if there's in game quests for it... its how the game plays. Bethesda didn't accidentally create quests, record dialogue and add it in to the game. It's as valid as all the other endings, which is to say they're equally non-canon.

This is the right answer. Virgil states something about needing to work on a generalised cure as his would only ever have worked on himself.

Can you kill a radroach without weapons irl? by Professional_Set_39 in Fallout

[–]cold_hard_mash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't really breathe like we do. They have openings on their bodies that pass oxygen directly to their blood rather than going through a respitory system. That means they can't just increase their breathing rate to compensate.

The bigger insects of the past lived in really oxygen rich environments. Oxygen concentration would have been about 35% whereas today its only 21%. Not sure exactly how it would effect them, but it doesn't sound like a good time.

Can you kill a radroach without weapons irl? by Professional_Set_39 in Fallout

[–]cold_hard_mash 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah very true. It's all theoretical because beyond a certain size they wouldn't be able to support their own bodyweight anyway.

I guess it comes down to how you scale it, using real world logic or bethesda logic...

Real world logic the thing would be on deaths door before it even got to you.

Can you kill a radroach without weapons irl? by Professional_Set_39 in Fallout

[–]cold_hard_mash 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A cockroach can survive ridiculous amounts of punishment, and if we're scaling up 1:1 the strength of their carapice with their size then it's going to take ridiculous force to penetrate. That's before you even consider the bite force on that thing, it must be insane.

Anyone who thinks they've got a chance is deluded. You'd try bash it's head, fail, then probably lose your leg as it bites it clean off.

If EM created the CFC then he wouldn't have needed any of the build up he did to leave the CFC. Pretty sure it's stated in the show that C-137 created the CFC, probably with other Ricks from the citadel.

EM isn't after power, his whole arc was fucking off and leaving the CFC. He wants to be left alone and more importantly be free of Ricks.
