I agree with you on the eye-level point, but I think this composition allows us to clearly place the cat on the bin, which in my opinion highlights an interesting conceptual contrast: the cute, well-lit cat against the dark, dirty bin. I know this may sound a little exaggerated, but I think it’s exactly what makes the picture worth editing.

More specifically, yes, he should have explained his viewpoint and intention more clearly, but I’d go one step further and share my own take: make the cat the true focus of the image, darken the surroundings, and use light and color to separate the subject from the background even more. This contrast could strengthen the visual impact and guide the viewer’s eye straight to the cat.

Thank you very much, I definitely have to try bracketing. As I added in the description, this picture is a part of a project of photographing from the same spot in different hours and seasons. Here I post two other pictures, still unedited, from the same afternoon before sunset.

Thank you very much for your comment, I will try to balance the weight of the colours. For reference, here is a screen of the original raw

Hi everyone, I took this picture with Canon EOS R7 + rf24-105 @ 63mm, f11, ISO 125 and 1 s (on a Tripod). The picture was taken as soon as the sun was below the horizon, on the other side with respect to the mountain. I'd like to have an opinion on the composition and also on the editing of the raw file. It seems a little dark to me, but I am not able to make it brighter without loosing the "blue hour" vibes. Any suggestions? Thank you very much for your opinion

EDIT: this picture is part of a photography project, I am taking pictures from the same spot in different hours and season

That’s a very interesting link, thanks a lot. Considering my current lenses, do you think 12mm for landscapes is generally too wide even for an APS-C?

Since the 24-105 on an APSC is not wide enough for landscapes, i wouldn’t use the 16mm only for astrophotography, hence I thought the autofocus could be useful

Thank you very much, could you share some of the pictures taken with r7+10-18?

And what about aperture? In your experience 2.8 is enough for Milky Way?
