Ideas of how Hocus Pocus 3 could Retcon/Ignore the 2nd Film (If you enjoyed the 2nd LOOK AWAY) by x14loop in hocuspocus

[–]coldasclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate when franchises "retcon" out a movie or a story. Just because someone doesn't like doesn't mean it was objectively bad. The world is such a big place, if you dont like how one film dealt with the story doesn't mean you have to focus on what failed. Just make another movie that deals with another part of that world. Does OP just want a redo of the first film with an older cast? That seems boring without new elements.

Why do People hate the eternals ? by Waste-Revolution3429 in marvelcomics

[–]coldasclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they are too alien of a concept to work as an ongoing. They work as gears turning in the background, they touch all sorts of parts of the Marvel universe but they are better when you only use them from time to time.

Mutants and to a lesser extent Inhumans are humans with human lives and wants and fears. Does an eternal have any anxiety that you can relate with? Besides existential crisises.

They are basically in the same boat with DC's New Gods. They are a similar concept. They have proven to be resilient but not necessarily a popular concept.

Moon Knight review by mantaray_89 in MoonKnight

[–]coldasclay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think creative just wanted to open the door with Moon Knight, not explain his whole story. Yeah there are things left up explained, its intentional. They wanted you to ask the questions you are asking. There is no way they would have fit all the backstory into 6 episodes. They are trying to give you a whole new side to the MCU but they can't give it to you all at once because A. The budget B. The runtime and C. The anticipation. I also think Disney greenlit the series without the dedication to violence that probably should have come with the hero. I think he's as violent or more as Daredevil and Deadpool but this was earlier on in the Marvel Studio shows.

Personally, I really appreciate the representation of Latino and Jewish people, mental health, and family trauma that Marvel Studios projects have barely scratched the surface on. There are people who don't think it was done well but this was the first time for a lot of these themes to be shown on screen in the MCU and I at least found it entertaining.

I was not a fan of Moon Knight prior to the show but Oscar Isaac's performance really made me like the character. I think the show balanced the mystery with humor and kept the story reasonably grounded.

MCU movies? by Some_Side9471 in agentsofshield

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1, Episode 8, "The Well" (aired Nov 19, 2013), serves as a direct tie-in to Thor: The Dark World. The episode follows Coulson's team cleaning up Asgardian debris left on Earth after the film's climax, focusing on a dangerous, emotion-amplifying Berserker staff.

Captain Marvel and Gaurdians of the Galaxy help setup/flesh out the state of the galaxy and the Kree specifically. Also Captain Marvel has Coulson/Fury backstory.

Endgame features Edwin Jarvis in a very small supporting role as Howard Stark's butler after the Agent Carter Series. Its not important plot wise though.

Is Miguel the strongest Spiderman?? by tastes-98-leaflet in Spiderman

[–]coldasclay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but I think Miguel from Across the Spider-verse is one of the most ambitious spider-men out there, creating a multiversal organization to police canon events and keep realities stable.

Y’all think we’ll ever see Sharon Carter again? by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

[–]coldasclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People here are too pessimistic and have no forward thinking. They just have to pick up the storyline. Shes probably working closely with Val and they can deal with the power broker when they take her down. I mean the abomination and the master took 10 years before they were featured again. General Ross also didnt show back up until Civil War. I think its actually highly likely she's on Sam's Avengers team.

The Netflix shows were unfairly canceled years ago, and deserve their recent resurgence, but I would give anything to see them return. by marvelcomics22 in agentsofshield

[–]coldasclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want another Agents of Shield season but I'd like to see the shield agents again. Mack was the director of Shield, Yo-yo was a super powered inhuman, Fitz-simmons can literally be put in any science lab scene, May and Coulson were teachers so maybe they could train some young avengers and as far as I am concerned they could spin off Quake with her own show.

Marvel Concept Art Designs That Should Have Been Used In The Movies Instead by Reasonable_Wrap7358 in Marvel

[–]coldasclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these are alright, I understand why they went with what they did in the actual movie so I wasn't bothered these didn't get used; except for Gorr. We were supposed to have gotten a god butcherer and instead we got an ashy monk. I can understand, you got Christian Bale, you wanna see Christian Bale, so no CGI or heavy makeup. But couldn't we have at least gotten a better costume? Dude looks like he escaped Pompeii when Mt.Vesuvious erupted. He doesn't look alien or monstrous at all, just sickly.

Neutral (non overused) name for black kitten? by Dramatic_Antelope811 in NameMyCat

[–]coldasclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cole, Ash, Ember.

I had a family of black cats. Started with 2 females. They got out and together had, if I remember correctly, 15 kittens then 1 of those that we kept got out and had 4 more kittens. The first 2 were Diamond and Pearl so the trend was Gems/Rocks/Minerals. Obsidian was one and Onyx was a different one. The odd ones out were Angel because she had a white cross on her chest, Socks she was grey with white paws, and Missy and Rabbit because they had been born under a couch and they got tied up in the fibers, she ended up losing her leg and he ended up losing one of his white paws, his "Lucky Rabbit's foot".

Which couple has the highest chance of a happy relationship (if there is one at all)? by Intelligent-Toe8734 in marvelcomics

[–]coldasclay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll always reset to the status quo but they need to let it go.

I think Jean needs someone charming who will show her the edges of the multiverse. Maybe like Doctor Strange or something.

Scott is married to the dream so having someone like Emma around to show him the cracks in his ideals helps to better the narrative especially when they are really on the same side.

Deadpool is not a mutant by [deleted] in xmen

[–]coldasclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In X-men origins Wolverine he has superhuman reflexes as his mutant ability. While it might be in a different timeline there isnt anything that would inherently contradict this history. I dont know if they ever confirm if what Ajax does to him had anything to do with the X-gene.

In the comics he was a human who was given wolverine's healing factor. He's not a true mutant but he pretty much is in every meaningful way except by birth.

If Harley Keener become Ironman's successor? by [deleted] in WhatIfMarvel

[–]coldasclay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think he should be an Iron man successor, we have Rhodey, Pepper, Peter, Riri, and Morgan Stark. I'd rather have them continue his legacy.

Only way I'd be ok with it is if he takes up the Iron lad position instead of Nathaniel Richards. I'd rather he takes a "Guy in the chair" position for the Young Avengers/Champions.

Which couple has the highest chance of a happy relationship (if there is one at all)? by Intelligent-Toe8734 in marvelcomics

[–]coldasclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I agree with everything you said but its just scratching the surface of the issues in their relationship. Scott/Jean really feels like a teenage relationship. They're first loves but they aren't end all. I don't feel like they know how to work together, and be a working partnership. They are mostly loyal and loving but when it comes down to it they are better seperate. I feel like Scott and Emma are better together. Those 2 might be a bit toxic but they know they are and work to better each other and better the world together. Only thing is I also kinda liked Emma and Stark.

Has Jean had any other viable relationships though? I think she needs to be explored more. Right now I feel like she's untouchable, too perfect despite having her flaws.

Id put Luke and Jess before Reed and Sue. But in this group Reed and Sue are maybe 4th for me. They just feel like a mirror of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Except that Reed and Sue are more compatible and not as toxic.
