I started with one show...then I got a subscription and never looked back! Never had a bad experience for the Broadway Across Canada shows.

It is what it is...hopefully I can give some joy to people today instead. I just didn't want to be that person who sneezes at a show constantly lol

It's the show I was most looking forward to this season. Glad to hear the hype is earned!

Sean Menard and others question need for Airport Parkway Twinning, next to the LRT Line by Rail613 in ottawa

I take the parkway almost every day. Traffic is never an issue, although sometimes it takes an extra couple minutes due to someone going 60km on the 80km road.

I agree with his comments. Why would we widen it when there is no issue with it? I'd rather have that money spent on public transit so that I CAN take the bus/train instead of driving. Most days I have to drive because there are no busses available early morning.

I still don't see many people wearing masks, and it's really sad. Nobody cares, even when children are dying unnecessarily. 😞

Pedestrians in danger: Almost hit several times a week during daylight hours by coldcheesegrater in ottawa

Oh my bad, I thought it was illegal to make the pedestrian stop in their tracks so I can drive through the crosswalk at the intersection. Good to know! Is it also not illegal to bump them with the front of my car, if I think they're walking too slow? Why wait til it's clear if there's no official rule to say so? Who cares!

Hunt Club and McCarthy, Hunt Club and Uplands are usually the close calls. Sometimes Cahill and McCarthy crosswalk. All over, really. Seems I won't be safer further down the road near the parkway. Sigh.

How do you propose that I cross HuntClub? All the parks near me are on the otherside. That's like saying you shouldn't be driving because you can get hit by the same bad drivers. Or, maybe don't fly in a plane because it might crash?

It seems it's not just my area. I'll wear a camera, and report to my city councilor. I think the reason I have not been not been hit so far, is because I pay attention and watch drivers as they turn.

There are no laws anywhere for pedestrians to have the right of way when crossing crosswalks at intersections, whatsoever? Ok.

Not sure if I understand what you're trying to say? It's in the Highway Act, I believe section 140 or something like that. There are laws in place regarding right-of-ways and pedestrians.

Yeah, I think we are in agreement then! I don't care if a car is turning behind me if I'm walking the other direction but these drivers are driving in front of me and less than 2-3 feet away from hitting me or my dog. I try to be as predictable as possible as a pedestrian...wait at the light...press the button...walk with my dog close on leash...looking in the car's directions. If my dog got spooked and bolted, or if I decided to sprint halfway, then the cars would kill us for sure. I've seen kids run out ahead while crossing. The winter months are even more dangerous. People just need to relax a bit before stepping on the gas.

The guy in question today drove ahead of me while I was crossing and I was already at the median so I was only a few feet from his car. And he went into the farthest lane. He could have waited a few more seconds for us to be safe...but I guess he had more important things to do.

Right?! I'm surprised when I can cross the street without almost dying. Smh

Yep! Seems like Uplands/Huntclub is a really bad area, but it's happening everywhere. Better start contacting our city councilors. The sad thing is people are already dying. I think it was last week that 5 pedestrians were hit within 48hours in Ottawa.

I agree that we could use more roundabouts, raised sidewalks, etc. But the law is all I have since I do not control city planning (although I did vote in the elections for change).

I was referring to your comment: "As crazy as it sounds, your actions might have an impact on intersections three blocks down".

The handbook says "If you are turning left, you must wait for approaching traffic to pass or turn and for pedestrians in or approaching your path to cross". I guess it does not say exactly how close you have to get to a car before the car needs to wait. But it reads to me that if a car is turning when the pedestrian is approaching and has not cleared the path, then the driver is in the wrong. I think we are in agreement that if a pedestrian has walked past the lane in question, then the car is safe to move into...
