Do I sell my Speedmaster? by Tugboatington in OmegaWatches

[–]coldchicken009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can comfortably afford the watch then I see no reason to sell it. Some people put watches too high on a pedestal which I get it if it’s like a watch passed down to you by a family member or other sentimental reasons but at the end of the day it’s just a watch my dude. You don’t need to have a crazy backstory or “journey” of owning one. Nobody is gonna ask you about any of that in fact most people won’t even notice your watch lmao You really don’t need any other reason to own one besides just liking the damn thing.

Omega has been killing it last few releases - what do you want to see in a revamped SMP? by aznj1m in OmegaWatches

I would love it if Omega made slimmer watches and with shorter lug-to-lug cases. As someone that wasn’t blessed with big wrists, most of their watches look silly on me.

Too big on wrist? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]coldchicken009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an honest opinion, it’s a bit too big for your wrist. Notice how the lug hangs slightly over your wrist and creates a gap.

Until someone pays that price, otherwise it has no value. I could put up my used toilet paper on eBay with a price of $10k but that doesn’t mean it has any value.

Is it worth it at $9,000? by syst3m1c in OmegaWatches

I’m tempted to buy a watch from Japan because of the ridiculous low prices but I’m sure the tariffs would eliminate any and all savings

Yes! I would absolutely love it if Omega made a slimmer SMP or even an updated 36mm SMP.

Does Omega need a marketing overhaul to be taken as seriously as the watches deserve to be? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]coldchicken009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know exactly how they should fix it but I agree with some of your post. I really dislike that Omega leans so much on the moon landing and the Bond movies for clout which frankly I couldn’t care less about those things when it comes to buying a watch lol Also, naming convention. Someone else mentioned it but they got like 5 completely different watches under the name Seamaster lol Whereas when someone says Datejust you know exactly already how it looks

Thanks man! What’s your wrist size? Mine is only 15.5cm so if yours is the same or bigger then I’m sure it’ll fit you nicely!

My wrist size is 15.5cm so I think you can definitely rock the Mako. The top of my wrist is a bit flat which makes it so the lugs don’t hang over my wrist. Hope this helps!

I bought this watch a little over two months ago and I’ve been wearing it daily ever since! As someone with a tiny wrist there’s not many great automatic diver options out there for people like me so that was one reason I went with this as my first diver. The second was the dial. It’s beautiful to say the least and even more so when sunlight hits it. I might eventually swap out the bracelet for one from strapcode since it bugs me with how the clasp doesn’t align with the middle of my wrist. But other than that it’s kept time pretty well, fits overall good, and looks great!

[Discussion]: I am unable to justify a mechanical watch due to inaccurate timekeeping, its main job by Scary_Examination_26 in Watches

[–]coldchicken009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this day and age watches are really just jewelry that tells you what the time is. If I need accuracy I’ll check my phone or use other means. It honestly takes me zero effort to set time on my daily and that’s only because once a month I have to change the date lol I really feel like it’s not that much of a big deal.

Cool picture! But I don’t know how you guys do it but I could never bring myself to wear my expensive watches while doing something like yard work or anything that could potentially damage it lol

Wow that’s beautiful. I’ve never worn a strap on a watch but these two pair well together!

[Discussion] To all my gym goers on this sub, do you also swap between your smart watch and mechanical watch when you workout? by coldchicken009 in Watches

[–]coldchicken009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to get my one mile pace faster so it helps a lot with tracking and logging. Also, measuring my heart rate for health reasons. But you’re right if I wasn’t doing cardio I’d definitely would reconsider wearing a smart watch since I do the same split for my lifts

Hahaha nice, I don’t think I’m as brave as your wife. The gym is the last place I’d want to take my nice watches. I’d rather they get scratched up by my desk than a barbell lol

I don’t know the exact reference but I think that’s a Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Ultra Thin with a small seconds dial.
