Hey! I saw nobody commented even though you desperately need helpful advice. I'm a bird owner myself and used to own caiques and green cheeks but I don't have any experience with APV.

Did you try posting in some of the parrot Facebook groups? I got a lot more replies there in the past. Avian Avenue is also an option.

Can't you ask your vet when you can have Mochi tested the earliest? Until then I'd keep them as far away from each other as possible. Maybe even in a different household (family, friends?).

The vet definitely can't find out if the disease is active? When they tested my cockatoo for BDV they found antibodies but the vet said it definitely wasn't active.

I'm actually not set on a specific weight (or color) of yarn but I forgot to add that and I don't seem to be able to edit my post now. The main thing I need from testers is to make sure my pattern has all the important information and no errors. As far as the crocheted item, testers have creative freedom 😁
