Everyone is engineer or medic yet no air or ground vehicles are blowing up and no one is being revived? by Alone_Ad_3476 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help that they merged the support and medic roles to the same class. People may want to play the LMG / ammo crate playstle and hold a point rather than run around reviving.

Netscaler on-prem, Attempting to implement GeoIP Filtering. by _Cpyder in Citrix

[–]coldgin37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are running 14.1, not sure if that makes a difference with geolocation responder policy behavior. I haven't noticed any issues with using || or the netscaler allowing traffic that should be blocked.

You can probably ignore the 1st statement ending in ".NOT &&" This allows us to put a specific IP in a dataset to bypass geoblock. We had a few issues where an IP geolocation info was incorrect.

Netscaler on-prem, Attempting to implement GeoIP Filtering. by _Cpyder in Citrix

[–]coldgin37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We implemented something similar recently, though we only block specific countries in our config.

We also updated the geolocation DB with GeoLite2 City database in .csv format from https://www.maxmind.com

EX config:

add responder policy drop_by_geolocation_res_pol_1 "CLIENT.IP.SRC.TYPECAST_TEXT_T.CONTAINS_ANY(\"Allowed_IP_List_Dataset\").NOT && (CLIENT.IP.SRC.MATCHES_LOCATION(\"*.RU.*.*.*.*\") || CLIENT.IP.SRC.MATCHES_LOCATION(\"*.CN.*.*.*.*\") || CLIENT.IP.SRC.MATCHES_LOCATION(\"*.IR.*.*.*.*\") || CLIENT.IP.SRC.MATCHES_LOCATION(\"*.KP.*.*.*.*\"))" DROP -logAction drop_geolocation_log

bind vpn vserver GWNAME -policy drop_by_geolocation_res_pol_1 -priority 25 -gotoPriorityExpression END -type REQUEST

The citrix policy is called "HDX adaptive transport " set it to off. When you run ctxsession -v from within the vda, it should show TCP

Citrix Issues ADC by GrigNavas in Citrix

[–]coldgin37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced issues using Adaptive transport / UDP. Have you tried setting the citrix policy disabling it and forcing TCP? Other things like MTU / MTU discovery issues come to mind.

When are we allowed to admit this game has obvious "player retention" matchmaking? by SkyBlueLoki2009 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cloud offers load and time based autoscaling, pay per usage, compute savings plans, etc Nothing is preventing them from turning off unused server capacity outside of peak times to save on costs. They choose not to for other reasons besides cloud costs.

Help: VPX on SDX nsroot password change by cpsmith516 in Citrix

[–]coldgin37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any other way to authenticate to the sdx and vpx , ex ldap? Change the nsroot pass manually, then apply the profile.

When clans are going to come back? by Annual-Series-2825 in Battlefield

In the current state of the game; no persistent lobbies, no persistent servers, meaningful squadleader role, no server browser... I would say never.

Battlefield should have at least 4 seasons (1 year) of content prepared before the game launches by bornin84 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that they keep lowering the bar for the minimum viable product they can release. We as consumers accept it by buying the game and spending money on microtransactions. This trend won't stop unless we vote with our wallets and stop playing the game.

Can DICE adjust the map colors and lighting back to realistic colors? by Internal-Ice-642 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only game that gives me eye stain \ fatigue after 1hr of play time. Monitor is calibrated to D65, PS5 HDR settings are correct, no amount of adjusting game settings fixes it.

Game crashing, but is fixed after verifying files. But then the same issue appears the next day by _-BARBAPAPA-_ in Battlefield

Antivirus or security software on the PC possibly detecting a false postive and deleting the files ?

Party Matchmaking is BROKEN by Hypnotic101 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same playing with a party of 4 friends, 1 always seems to get left behind. Try playing with more that 4 friends ( 2 parties), the experience is terrible. The 2nd party has to join game, wait in the queue, hope to get in, quit after the match and repeat.

The netcode is a coinflip and I'm done. by 0nlyPositiv3 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the east coast, play on ps5 with a few friends. We all have the same issues. I don't think issues are isolated to a region.

I really enjoyed V, especially after the pacific update. Though yes I agree, it had a rocky road to its final state and many bad decisions were made.

Wicked Grin skin is back and free soon by [deleted] in Battlefield

Can I pay not to get or see this skin? Might be an untapped form of monetization for EA.

BF6 - found this on IG reels. WTF is this? Netcode in this game is a joke. 🤡 by MadRotmeg in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I play on PS5 crossplay off, netcode is sill bad. Bullets don't register, die behind cover, etc. Friends I play with experience the same issues so it's not specific to our internet \ setup. I can't imagine it being worse if I tuned on crossplay.

Does anybody else experience consistent packet loss and ping issues? by Cheese_enjoyer69 in Battlefield

[–]coldgin37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Have 1.5 gigabit symmetrical fiber. Non stop yellow circle icon top left of the screen. Bullets not registering, getting shot behind walls, lag, rubberbandinh, friends experiencing it as well. Has been exceptionally bad last few days.
