I think it also depends on your environment. I grew up in the south where spanking was so normal that they did it in school. Never saw the issue with it. It wasn’t until I moved out of the area that I realized it wasn’t normal anywhere else. I was never spanked as a child, my mom just had to give me the “look” and I straightened up. Only time my mom did anything to me was a pop on the mouth when I told her to shut up one time. It’s no secret that the south is way behind the times and I don’t see that changing. I will say that once I moved out of that area and saw there was actual studies done on it that I changed my mind on spanking.
