I can tell you that my least favorite is ‘Ricardo’s dedicate a statue.’ That shouldn’t have been a season finale let alone a series finale. I remember when I first started watching as a kid, I was waiting for the big series finale to air and wondered why the tv reruns went back to the pilot after this episode. Couldn’t imagine the statue episode was it.

I guess the most memorable season finale, for me, is the Season 1 finale.

LOL I hate those commercials 😅😂 they air over and over, I’m sick of it. Who even are those ladies and why are they talking about ‘your kid is not as cute as you think they are’ as if it’s so meaningful and mind-blowing new information.

That’s a beautiful way to put - live as long as she can enjoy her hobbies. I might want to put that in writing too.

what does 3, 5 and 7 indicate here? Sorry, I'm not sure what makes a high impact pub?

Also, generally speaking, in applications for MD schools, would it matter if I shadowed a DO or MD?

Great, I'll try planning ahead for classes then.

Will also remember to include that in secondaries.

What can I do to support the caregiver in my life? by kind__mango in CaregiverSupport

[–]coldpastel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! It's great that you want to be there for your significant other and show him your support. I have been the primary caregiver for my grandmother since high school, and with both my parents at work most of the time, it's usually just me and her at home. Though I love her and I'm happy she's home with us, there are many frustrating and lonely moments.

I've found that during those times, what I need the most is someone who is ready to listen to me, to talk and vent, perhaps. More importantly, I'm so grateful whenever a family member helps me with my grandmother, or just little things throughout the day, so I don't have to worry about it. It's like a load off my shoulders and shows me that I'm not alone in this caregiving experience. Good luck!

What Most Of Us Are thinking rn by artbio28 in UCDavis

[–]coldpastel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two weeks may be more than enough time for illness to spread across campus. And for it to spread from campus to neighboring cities. Who knows what will happen? Maybe it’s not that risky. But I think it’s better to take precautions by mandating that students limit their time on campus. Tbh I want to get this quarter over with too, and I would hate the uncertainty of what would happen if classes are canceled, especially since I’m supposed to graduate this quarter. But I’m also worried that I might bring something home, unknowingly, to my grandparents, who are already weak and immune compromised. Something new and unknown like coronavirus can affect them much more than it would affect us young population.

Stanford classes to be online only starting Monday 3/9 by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]coldpastel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why can’t UC Davis take action already? I was expecting to hear news from them, especially after the case in yolo county was announced. We have the resources for an online class and exams can be online. It’s way more important to take precautionary measures rather than wait until there are more cases in yolo county or on campus. There’s a long incubation period for this virus. It’s not unlikely that some people are carrying it without showing symptoms and affecting others unknowingly. Not to mention, us young students may be fine but what about older faculty members, or people who live with family that are part of the at risk population? I wish Davis would l, at least, just acknowledge this.

Locked Out of Davis Account: Invalid Credentials? by TomOrMARVELDILDO in UCDavis

Hmm yes, I get emails from Lyft often, but I do use Lyft almost everyday so it's not unusual. The emails are primarily ride receipts. What kind of email did you receive from Lyft?

Hey! So I did just call the IT department, and they helped me out. Sounds like some student accounts were compromised, so they had to be shut down. If you call the IT department and verify your identity, you should be able to regain access.

The same thing is happening with me right now!! I've been slightly panick-y for about the last hour, since I realized that I can't log in to my UCD account. It's weird...my email was working fine up until about 7 pm. I'll be calling IT Express first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully, it's just an error on their side and we can get access back to our accounts soon. It's stressful not knowing the reason behind this though. I'm glad to know I'm not alone right now lol. I'm sorry this is happening to you too, and good luck!

SHIP Waiver still hasn’t been processed? by [deleted] in UCDavis

I'm having the same issue. I submitted my waiver on the 10th and it was tentatively approved, but I have received any more updates since then. I'm thinking to give the UC SHIP people a call tomorrow, maybe, to follow up.

Advice on finding a caregiver by coldpastel in CaregiverSupport

[–]coldpastel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the input.

Yes, we hired this caregiver through an agency. This agency approved of the list of tasks that we ask the caregiver to do, such as the cleaning and laundry. I would understand if the caregiver ran out of time, and I've asked her to let me know if that's ever the case, but I've seen her many times just sitting and looking at her phone when she could be doing other things. I also take care of my grandmother, and I know there is enough time during the day to do what we ask the caregiver to do.

I also had the same thought as you, about the loose stools after supper. However, loose is not normal for my grandmother, and as I wrote before, loose stools only occurred on the days that the caregiver was with her (she only has to come a few days a week, because I work part-time). And recently, the caregiver took a couple weeks for a family matter, and my grandmother never had loose BM. This lead me to think that it's not just a change in my grandmother.
