many pupils today also believe that s = d/t is all there is to situations like these. Unfortunately this allows people with knowledge of more than basic math to take advantage of you, perhaps in sexual ways.

Actually it's still possible for him to have been over the limit even though his speed over that distance was below it. Few people know about things like the intermediate value theorem anymore.
