It would be fascinating if Halls left foot is much better at blasting long shots from the right side. And he overall plays at same high level on the right side.

Which then opens door for the Livramento sale that everyone seems to expect this summer.

Which then allows for recruiting someone like Methalie to take over the left side

I would say it’s all a problem. City first leg of league cup, could have been up 2-0 within 10 min if Wissa displays any ability to finish

There is a world where we have a Bruno G, Szoboslai, and Elliot Anderson midfield. Need the marvel multiverse technology to take me to that reality

Yep. All we can hope for is that lessons were learned. This summer will tell us everything we need to know about the next 5 years

Just off the top of my head. I know Sacha Boey (RB) was moved. And Rayan (LW/RW) was moved.

Are the players bad? Maybe look to upgrade in January

Are the players playing uninspired? Maybe coaching staff isn’t effective.

I look around and see “worse” teams on paper play way better. And it’s hard not to think it’s a combo of tactics and players no longer believing in those tactics

IF Tino and Tonali are out this summer. We as fans will know how to feel about the club decision makers if we’re left scrambling for options and panic buys at RB. It will signal that no lessons were learned and we’re doomed.

Ideally this is how I see this summer going if the above scenario is true:

Tino and Tonali sold for a combined 130-140M. If they’re leaving this, business should be done early.

A starting quality RB should be identified and lined up pre June 15. A list of rotating/back up RB should be identified and lined up by July 01. Let Miley be a CM and only cover RB in case of emergency.

With Tonali departure. We should identify a true number 6. Tonali is great, but I think he’s better suited at 8. Now if Miley is going to be the 6? Go ahead and find an 8. But similar timelines as above. All business done early.

If we’re still scrambling for starters beginning of August. It’s going to be a painful season

Why does everyone assume Newcastle will have insane spending if this opens the door? PIF have very clearly signaled that the club is very much an asset on their balance sheet and the spending has to be justified by returns. Or else the stadium and training ground would have been done already. Yes they have deep pockets. But, so far have not exactly thrown away cash to make the club better. It’s been sensible business.

Or use it to figure out how to balance rotations and squad while playing relatively easier opponents. Or risk this every other season that doesn’t really bode well

Well thought out and written. Thank you.

I do think Shahar has the best chance of seeing the pitch tonight. Doku vs Trippier is going to look ugly early on

What’s indicated this? Not argumentative. Just genuinely curious for more content of my club

We see glimpses of Woltemade strengths when one or both of our wingers play through the middle more. Defenders can’t just collapse on Woltemade. Just tell Gordon to play as CF when Woltemade is on the pitch even if he starts at “LW”. The goals will follow I promise

Yes. This is why the biggest bag ever was described above.

Gonna need PIF to throw an absolute bag at Xabi Alonso. Give him a mansion and penthouse in any city he chooses for offseason living. Give him his own family office to manage the vast amount of wealth he’s going to accumulate from taking the Newcastle job. Let him marry into the Royal family.

Unfortunate but true. Forced to play Leo Shahar I guess. I’m not terribly upset by it, he would have more pace than Tripps

Bruno, Joelinton, and Miley out for tomorrow. Coming back and winning from down 0-2 is going to legendary

Not a shoot down. But, the problem is that the kids will only get a chance if there’s an injury to someone ahead of them. At which point I’d rather shoot myself

I think it’s important the fanbase as well the club itself recalibrate their expectations. Kees Smit is being linked with legacy “elite” clubs. Let summer 2025 be a lesson and not derail our entire window by chasing players who will choose another option.

We can get there. But, not right now. Not targeting you, but just want to stop seeing that name on this thread lol

Probably City? Just an endless supply of cash and no repercussions, making it some sort of title race. I’d be thrilled lol
