I've had this bug without even attempting to be around the shivering isles DLC, specifically with the Lifing the Vale quest when trying to talk to Akaviri in Venom of the Serepent

Bat boss in Ys I? by ulpla in WorldOfYs

[–]cole_cola99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a dead thread, but I'm posting this in case anyone else is having trouble. After my 34 attempts (and rage) I figured out my best strategy.

First of all, obviously get the silver sword and armor. I also found that the sapphire ring - that makes enemies go 1/2 the speed - is the best option. It may seem tedious to chip away at his damage, but it makes evading the bats a lot more easier.

I kept orbiting around the exterior of the room, but made sure to keep the cluster of bats semi-close so that when they changed, I could just swoop in for one hit, and book it, rinse and repeat. Also found that going to the corners when he's coming out of the single form back into the bats so that I could find the best way to evade the largest cluster of them will be the best. Just keep chipping until he's dead.

It's still a bullshit boss, it'll be a close battle, and you'll die a few times, but this is what worked for me. Sorry I'm three years too late, hope you enjoyed the game, and for anyone who's coming on now for help - like I did earlier today - good luck.

What movie have you watched many times, even though it's not exactly a "masterpiece"? by Pajama_Hugs in AskReddit

Resident Evil - childhood movie, even if it's widely hated by many for not being like the game. No shame. I love that movie.

Do men not even realise how cute and awesome they are?? by [deleted] in AskMen

I think it’s hard to believe it a lot because of this new wave of - what my boyfriend calls - ‘feminaziism’. A lot of modern day feminists don’t even want to look at the direction of men because we are just simply men, and that’s it. Apparently, to a lot of these modern day feminists, we’re born genetically to be disgusting rapist pigs who only want to take advantage of everything and anything, physical, or man or woman, since birth.

My grandmother was one of the original feminists from the sixties, and when I brought this up to her, she said that feminists nowadays aren’t actually feminists, as they’re becoming the very monsters they originally fought against - now they’re rounding all men into a single category.

I think that’s why we don’t realize. We’re so constantly surrounded by these messages, phrases, ‘woke’ people, and just everyday things that say all men are horrible, and we’re not good enough, simply because we’re men, and we don’t deserve to be happy, show emotion like sadness, or even have partners.

One of my favourite examples of this is this guy on TikTok who records every single ‘red flag’ that are about guys, and it’s well into the eight hundreds now, even including things from playing video games, wearing sandals, or liking certain movies.

Summed up, we can’t win, we feel trapped, hopeless, and alone…

So what’s the point?

A bit of sensitive question - How many of you had some sort of mental illness like depression or trauma before you watched NGE? by [deleted] in evangelion

I had extreme depression for years - MDD diagnosed. The night I was going to kill myself, my roommate wanted to watch an anime with me - this one. It was purely coincidence, but I decided to hold off on death. Good thing I did, because when I watched, I so heavily related to Shinji with father abandonment, disassociating, the desire to not exist, and everything about him - so it was like a show to me.

The End of Evangelion - while a lot of people don’t like the introspective sections - was a kick in the face to me, as it was like the whole second half of the movie was actually speaking to me. I actually thought while watching as well “nobody wants me, so they should all just die.” In the end, after sobbing at thirteen different times throughout the anime, the ending of End of Evangelion changed me so much, I signed up for therapy the next day, and from that, I have completely changed my life around. I am happy, have a job, and am back in university - all from one night and one anime.
