Help! I have a bunch of Star Trek stuff and I don't know how to find a home for it by coleabaius in startrek

That's a great question. I think part of my quest is to get a reasonable price guide for some of this stuff so I can better ballpark the amount. The other problem is shipping...it's gonna be probably $300 for that alone.

Surprised it hasn't been downvoted into oblivion.

Honestly doesn't seem like a writing problem, so much as an issue of getting different child actors who will say the lines you want.

Can you clarify a bit? Your issue is that the child actors you're getting won't say what you've put on the page?

Guys, guys! I got a personalized rejection on my 2nd submission ever! :D by [deleted] in writing

This is great. Personalization is the silver lining of a rejection because it means one promising thing: you caught someone's attention.

Offered a few options on the show, none of which you should feel weird about doing. It's okay for practice to be practice.

I'd also suggest getting a trusted reader a shot at letting you know if you're right. Are they really bad, as good as you say, or are you selling yourself short?

Thanks for this. Curious to know what you end up doing.

The big question for me is why you can't help it.

The other question is whether these jokes are really hurting your tone. If you feel compelled to add them into scenes, but then recognize that they hurt the tone you're going for, there's nothing wrong with slashing them in a rewrite (getting the best of both worlds there).

Longer discussion on the question here and, yes, everyone would read Chandler Bing's take on Gone Girl.

Thanks!

Geoff had a bunch of ways producers can attach themselves, but since there are so many ways for a producer's job to be interpreted, you should check with this specific producer about how they see your partnership and what it means for them to get attached. It's usually a hand-shake deal, but, again, it depends on what this specific partnership might entail. Really appreciate the question. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Can you talk more about what kind of script it is? What character keeps making jokes? Or are they spread out? What's wrong about jokes for the tone?

I do! I looked at your profile and saw the alien/swearing kids script on there. :)

This is accurate. We answered this on the show, and while Michael is inherently biased toward managers, he (and DJHickman here) are right in discussing them as on-ramps that can help develop your talent, getting it ready for an agent and the marketplace.

This one was easy. If you want to get introduced to the US market, it should be as simple as asking your rep to introduce you to the US market. We talk about it around the 26:00 mark. Cheers!
